If its the Ed Gl then take out the stock panel filter at the back of the motor and connect what ever length filter pipe you want to the intake arm and shove a pod on the end.
Up to you if you rather short ram or a long CAI into the guard.

could go nuts and just ditch the factory piping and fit two motorcycle pods at the back. it would help with response, but may make you swap to lower temp sparkies in the long run.

other options can include ditching the filter at the back, and fitting a pod at the end of the existing piping, then removing the air resonator (that big black box under the intake pipe) and getting a hose from your local supercheap for $20 and aiming that out the bottom/front with a pod (altho if cops can see it out the front, its a big fat defect.

right now, on my system, i've removed the whole intake piping and lid of the airbox at the back and cut a piece of baking tray (and drill a hole in the centre) and use that as a lid of sorts to hold the filter in, whilst leaving the filter element exposed 360 degrees. with this design, you get the free breathing that is good for carbs, and it will only cost you $4 for the baking tray. altho many people will probably tell you that it will let in hot air, it doesnt let in any more hot air than a short ram intake would. and if you leave the base of the airbox still in, it acts as a heatshield of sorts so it isnt too bad. response increases a little, and your motor will be noticeably louder. but it probably wont increase power too much unless you browse around these forums for the thread about the keihin cv carb tweaks. and note that even with an exposed filter, or cold air intake, or whatever setups you can run, the most you can gain from such a tweak on these motors is like 4kw, so its probably easier to just go for a $4 baking tray than a $200 cold air intake system.
