Are all batteries the same or some brand better than others, meaning do some perform better than others, last longer etc etc?

theyre very different , weight reduction was a big thing with my preference depends what your powering big sound systems etc odyssey sealed glass mat batteries dont leak reduce weight and last longer than normal batteries hope this helps

There are a few companies that make these sort of batteries, try Optima and Deka as well. I recently purchased an Odyssey battery and so far I'm happy with it.

Make sure that when purchasing you get the correct battery for your car and required power, ie. if you have a decent sound system you're probably gonna need something a bit bigger. The CCA (cold cranking amps) of the battery is probably the thing you need to worry about most for an everyday car.

Search for drycell batteries or sealed batteries, you should find heaps of info.
