Hey guys,

I purchased an oil pressure and oil temp gauge today (both electrical - i didnt fancing the idea of scolding hot oil in my cabin) just wondering, how should i connect the sender units?

T piece off the OEM low oil pressure... sandwich plate adaptor on the oil filter... im looking for instructions/diagrams on best place to connect, dont forget, ill have to connect two units, both the pressure sender, and the thermostat...

thanks :D

wouldnt it depend if the sender units were based on a gradient (ie send a scaled signal based on the input) or threshold (ie send a signal only after or until a certain limit is reached) based??

As for connection, if the electrical units are based on a voltage sense they could be T pieced onto the factory sender wires as they would not interfere with the factory system, however any other method could cause some inteference in the factory system and may have side effects.

i got pics of the sandwich plate installed, i did that during my last oil change... so all i need to do is fit the gauges and run the cabling

i got it from autobarn, paid $170 :D was like $200... seen them on ebay for USD$130 plus p&h

lol i did have it in the title, but you may have missed it.

its a dual stage shift light. it allows you to set two completly different shift points. you can use it two ways:

1. orange light, comes on to warn you that shift is approaching, and then the main red light for the shift point

2. two shifts points: orange light for normal driving (optimum fuel efficiency) and red for racing....

i intend to use it for option 1. but its like two button pushes to change :D
very simple to use!

So i believe you'll be connecting the shift light to the RPM pinout and then one for power? Will you pics on the connection/setup? If this is something simple then I might give it a go.

**** IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL EURO OWNERS! ****

the previous ECU pinout for external shift light/tacho connection that i posted (out of the gizzmo electronics manual) showed an incorrect pinout for the RPM signal. Using the previous setup will not damage your vehicle, however, the shift light/tacho may be damaged or not respond. i have contacted gizzmo in regards to this.

I have created a new ECU pinout diagram with the CORRECT connections. my apologese for any problems caused

p.s no i did not damage my shift light, i now have it up and running :D
