im having this light clunking noise that appeared to be coming from the bottom end of the engine, once the engine starts to get warm , on idles it does that clunk clunk clunk then pauses. then starts again, if you rev it again, the clunk2 gets faster.

This problem have been taken care of Honda, car has been check with telescopic hearing from the top to find the source of the sound with no success, then once my car is up on a hoist, they found the source located from the rear bottom end of the engine.

Honda are trying to persuade me that there is nothing major. My mechanic friend can defenitely confirm that this is bottom end internal problem. would cost me dearly if this is not covered by the waranty. The problem presist for the last 3 service I had,

I found a similar case

Hi,
I've got a 2007 Jazz VTi-s CVT. When the car is at idle i hear and irregular knocking noise which seems to be coming from the bottom of the engine.
It only does it when it warms up. It's not the injectors as this noise is about half the speed of the injector sound but it comes and goes in waves. Like knock knock knock knock then nothing for about 1 or 2 secs then knock knock knock.

Anyone have any ideas before i take it to the dealer?

Thanks

Adrian

Similar sound can also be produced by a loose flywheel.
Though this isn't too common...
Is the car still under warranty?
