hi, i own a DC2 teg and currently have an issue..

the story goes, i took the car to an alarm installer to get an alarm removed and a new one installed and the cd player was working fine. when i picked up the car i noticed the cd player wasn't working. so checked the fuses and the fuse had blown. changed it and still no luck. so decided to check all fuses and still was not working. as i was checking the fuse on the back of the deck i noticed the accessories wire for the deck was not connected. so followed the wire and found it just tied up to a rail. now i cant seem to find the original accessories wire? it seems like it was cut by the installer? we bought the car back and he denied even touching the cd player.

so my question is, since i cant seem to find the accessories wire at all, can i use another one? one from the cig lighter? and if so, would anyone know what colour it is? saves me cutting every wire to find it.

sorry for the long post, am dying without beats.. any help would be appreciated.

thanks

Yes you can use the ciggy lighter one. I don't know the colour - my guess it will be yellow. You can get a cheap 12V test light...maybe $2 crazy clarks. Connect the alligator clip to earth and probe each wire of the ciggy. The test light will light up only when you turn ignition on.

yeah i have one of those test lights and that was gonna be my next option. was just checking to see if anyone knew the exact colour, so i could just wire it up. i guess i gotta stop being slack and find it. haha..

also another question is. when i was searching for the accessories wire, i noticed that there were two blue leds near the cig lighter and it would only turn on when the lights were on. i cut one of the wires, but didnt wire it back up. would that be alright if i left it like that or would i need to wire it back up? and what purpose do they serve the blue leds?

I'd assume the leds are to illuminate some part of the centre console when you turn the lights on at night. If you are too slack to rewire it make sure the cut wire is insulated with tape to stop it shorting out on bare metal (assuming the wire you cut has a +ive output)
