i bought a body kit a while back suited for a ek coupe and as i drive a 94eg civic i know there will be some modifying needed, yesterday i removed my front bar and stuck on the new front bar just to see how well it fits, it fits nice well except for a few gaps around the headlights and the wheel arch, can anyone tell me how i can fix these problems up? sorry if this is the wrong section didnt really know where else to post
pics are attached hopefully they work

lol it looks like its smiling at me..

anywho u can try and use some sort of filler to fill the gaps and then smooth them out by sanding.

or u could buy some pieces of rubber and use them to fill the gaps

or sell it and buy a proper 1 to fit the eg

nah dont really want to sell it as it, its the kit from the fast n the furious and the main reason why i bought a civic, so what kind of fillers would i use? brands? and where from? im guessing maybe autobarn or super cheap auto?

gee, that's a big gap. where did u get it from?

this things are common with aftermarket 'copied' bodykits.
my suggestion is don't use filler to fill the gap there straight away, as it will look messy and can possibly damage other parts of the body.

take it to panel beater (or DIY if you want) add some body filler/BOG and then sand it down or cut and test fit until you're satisfied with it. and then you still need to use primer, putty and lots of sanding to match it up with the rest of the surface.
finally top coat and top clear coat to finish it off.

have fun! that will take some time.

oh, and also, when you test fit it, don't make it fit too tight. you gotta allow some gaps for the paint build up during the painting process.

I think you might have to give fibreglassing a bit of a go. Is it a fibreglass kit?
Im looking mainly at the gap between the guard and the kit. A bit of packing foam in to fill the gap and then a layer or two of fibreglass over the top.

is that how it sits with the side screws in to hold the bumper to the fenders?

yes fibreglass is prob best option.

best option is to take it to a panel beater. My friend customised a wrx cwest side skirt onto his corolla , fits perfect!. Try Candyman , 97264682 NSW!

cheers

yeah the kit is fibreglass, and i havent drilled any holes in yet, im still trying to learn about fibreglass and about its strengths and weakness, so i dont use a drill and crack the fibreglass. all i did was remove the stock front bar and fit the new bar as if i was about to screw it in, if that makes sense

alright so instead of making a new thread decided to revive this thread.. alright so atm the only two problems i have is:
1.side skirts need to be modified to fit sedan as there for a coupe ( easy )
2. my rear bar has warped itself.. so im guessing the best thing to do is take it to a panel beaters? any idea on how much its going to cost?

the thing about its warped is: the product is being put in a high degree temp room. or as well as not being laid flat on the floor.

fibreglass loves to warp itself up, especially the ones that are poorly made.

so, what you want to do is, put it in a cool temp room and lay it flat on the floor (don't put anything above it, nor below it)

cos panel beater can stretch it, but its going to be ugly, sometimes very2 ugly
