only injen CAI, toda flywheel clutch and BC coils... otherwise in full street trim, i didnt strip or remove any lights or anyhting off the front...

next time round i'll strip it down a fair bit more and remove the front indicator... im quite pleased

60ft ranged from 2.09 to 2.3

thanks mate, the thing that was shitting me was the front end bouncing when the sun went down, i think maybe if i drop the tyre pressures itll stop that, but i didnt have a tyre pressure gauge with me so i didnt wanna touch them... about 38psi i think

thats great dude
what tyres?

Zilli
02-01-2008, 10:03 PM
Azenis rt215... if i deflate them off street pressures will it reduce the bouncing fellas?

destrukshn
02-01-2008, 10:10 PM
should.
also check your mounts lower ones and rear one if they're rooted that can cause it as well
i ran on rt215's dropped pressures to 20psi, and still spun like it was ling long tyres
lol

Just a question for all,

When warming up the tyres at the burnout, do people start the burnout in second to get the car really sitting there without dragging the rear wheels and get some heat in the tyres? Can a ITR do that? will the clutch slip or what?

I understand its pretty much pointless with street tyres, and a huge strain on the driveline. for me its just an interest thing of the capability of the car and to get tips from more experienced people out there really.

i think they do the burn out in 2nd gear so the revs pick up slower..

coz i was doing it in 1st and it popped up the rev limiter pretty quick.. and i just sit there with a shit burnout.. bap bap bap bap. then stop. lol

where as i see 2nd gear would just spin as it would prbs reach up to 100kms before u hit the rev limiter rev up not as fast.. longer/better burnout

my tyres gripped like crazy on kinda warm tyres. but its not like im runnoing much power.
but yeah

so tthat was good enough for me
lol

i did it in first but have been advised by backyard performance to do it in 2nd.

2nd is higher speed and will grip later.. it will give you a longer burnout

Man... you got 2.09 60ft with std pressure ... thats damn good

2nd gear burnouts would be the best for ITR. Just remember to keep the rev in beween 7.5-8.5k to keep the wheels spinning.

can't remember but i think we couldn't do 2nd burnouts with a stock b16a (CRX) due to lack of torque.:(

i was about to ask that too. 2nd gear for b16a.

ill try it next time.. but i dont fink its gonna do anygood. since the lack of toqrue u say

so can you start the burnout in 2nd gear, or do you need to go 1st then 2nd? because its a bit hard my handbrake is shit so i gotta hold it up....

so 2nd gear, high revs then dump when already in second gear?

yank the handbrake as highest as you can, pop into 2nd, rev to 7-8k then dump it, wheel starts to spin, hold rev's in between 7-8.5k, hold for 2 secs then release handbrake.

thanks mate... what were you driving?

wasnt driving, just spectating.

Ive seen plenty of type-r's go down the quater in the high-14's. Its good to see you hitting low. I think these are a 14.1~ flat car at most, the MPH just doesnt have the oomph.

Zilli
14-01-2008, 01:38 PM
yeh as soon as i hit 4th the true slowness of the car hits home!

I think that low low 14's are easily possible with the correct tyres and pressures... because it is so gutless it really comes down to the launch... damn great fun though. Would like to get headers and exhaust and see what that would do for me
