Hey guys im new to this forum. Just have a few questions.

I bought a 98 Vti-r. The car is a awesome machine. Just curious as to how important kms are to this car. At the moment its 125k kms. I'm wondering whether its worth keeping this car and building it up or selling it and buying one at lower KMS, how well do these ones sell at higher Kms??

Secondly im wondering if the AP-508-H004 is the correct Apexi pods for the car, it says its for DC2 Type R B18C 5/93 to 7/01. Would this fit a normal vti-r

sorry about the silly questions. Still starting :)

these cars imo don't hold their value soo greatly once the km's are up .. i've seen plenty with 200+ km on them go for less than $10k ..

if you have enough money to mod the car .. sell it and find yourself a dc2r which would probably save you the hassle of doing some of the things you were going to do with the vtir

thats just my opinion .. its entirely up to you .. hope that helps a little

Firstly congrats on the buy, I’m sure you’re going to have heaps of fun driving the car. I speak from experience.

As for the value of your car… how many k’s it has traveled is only one aspect of how much its worth now. You also need to take into consideration the overall condition of the car both on the inside and outside. Your car is 10 Years old; it’s traveled 125,000 Kms so that works out to be 12,500 KMs per year which is well under the average for any car here in Australia.

My car is a 98’ and it’s done 165,000 Kms and it still runs like a dream. As long as you service them regularly and don’t thrash it around then they’ll be just as reliable as one with less k’s.

As for modifying… depends on what you want. If you want performance then better off getting a type r and build on that foundation (as many others have said). But if you just want a fun car to drive on a daily basis then stick with the VTi-R and think about getting a good set of shocks and springs and definitely a bigger rear swaybar. Those two mods alone should make a world of difference.

Good luck.

Dont worry too much about k's, condition of the car is more important, if u take good care of your car u could sell it still at a reasonable price, just tell all the low ballers where to go, alot of vtir tegs which have high ks and are older models like the 94s and stuff are in shit condition and alot have terrible ricer mods, keep urs clean and mint and u could still sell it at a reasonable price down the track. In terms of mods, depends what you want out of your car, vti-rs have a decent engine already, so id say lower it on some nice clean rims, check out the clean integra thread in the gallery section. Just keep the thing clean, dont go ricey mods, but that my opinon.
