Hi guys, just wanted to ask if those hideous black strips can be removed without causing damage to the bumper bar? Is it just glued on or will I need to respray the bar once these strips are removed? Thanks.

Can someone put this in the correct section please. Had a look at the link EuroDude and I'm not sure if it applies to this problem. From looking at other vti eg's, I don't think those strips are meant to be there (like the black plastic moulds on the sides of egs or the front and rear bumpers of the prefacelift eks). I just want to know if this is plastic mould or just a stick on strip. Thanks everyone.

on closer inspection would you would be able to tell str8 away? have u seen the car IRL? coz my car had that same kinda ugly shit on it.. just left the car in the sun for a while on a hot day.. then ripped that shit off! then me and dave (knightmare) just went to work on the glue with some very hot (not boiling of course) water. glue came right off.. well most of it.. used some bug and tar remover too.
but yeah my car looked pretty much exactly the same as those pics.. except mine is a EJ8
edit: dont think u need to respray fernando.. unless the paint itself is shit.. but my paint suffered no damage at all..

its a stick on strip mr fernando. A heatgun or hairdrier will peel it off easy , and jsut use some nicer cleaner to mop up the residue left behind.
FYI the strip is a optional extra.

^ unless its colour coded ;)
I would just apply newspaper and masking tape around the edges, and spray paint the strips using code matched paint from an Auto Shop.
It will turn out a bit bland (non shiny) so spray some overcoat paint afterwards.
