Grats on $100 ^_^
go to redbook.com.au where you can look up car specs along with car's market value. Under the car VIN number field it tells you the starting numbers where in your case of argument would be JHMEK4.........
There is EK 1,2,3,4,5,8,9. There is no 7 or 6.

wat da hell is a ek8 or ek5? :p i only know ek12
EK8 = AWD civic :)
i found this info through google
http://www.rncindustries.com/inv.php?refNum=498
and
Sit se vanha 1.6 (olisko EK7) Type R:kin olisi kiva lisä.
Civic Type R
Muutenkin vanhempia autoja saisi olla enemmän.

its in gibberish though
That to me looks like an ek9 ^^ The internet lies, which is obvious. So if u look at the table that i added there is an EK7 there but there is no information on it where it was made, yr, engine etc.
yeah i dunno maybe in wierd countries they call it different things
lol wth, that just looks like an ek9 to me

There was an ek7 released but don't have any info on what type of civic it was. It certainly was not released in AU, US or Jap

Where does it say that, to me it just says that it is 1.6 L on that table. The question is, is it a vti-r
Oh the question is, is the ek4 known as an ek7?
No if there is such thing as an ek7 which there seems to be but there is no info on it they will be 2 different cars.
EK 7 = EK 7
EK 4 = EK 4
Have to read the question 1st :)

main reason that there is not much info is that nearly all the info i looked at was in another language (Russian and some others i could not work out). Google translation was not much help.
Pretty much confirms that it was not released in AU, US or JAP
na limbo i was reffering to the question that was asked in this thread not u :) The question is something like "is the ek7 a vti-r. looks like its not ^^
