I re gas last week, turn the car on and to test it and it didnt work, so i started testing the compressor to see if it was working properly. I used a volt metre to check the voltage that was going into the compressor, it was comming out as -12v, So what i did was i chuck 12v supply straight from the battery and the air con is working properly.

So anyone know whats the problem here?
Why is it comming out as -12v?

When you say it doesn't work do you mean:
1 - The interior blower fan isn't working?
2 - The blower fan is working and the a/c compressor is engaging but the air isn't getting cold?
3 - The blower fan is working, but the a/c switch isn't engaging the a/c compressor?

When you had it regased did you get dye put in aswell, for leak detection?

Why is it comming out as -12v?

You had incorrect polarity when measuring with the meter (you had postive probe on the ground and the negative probe on the positive pin).

Fan works but the compressor is not engaging, also the condensor fan doesnt turn on when i switch on Aircon.

Could it be the aircon switch not hooked up?

The condenser fan usually doesn't come on until the condenser gets real hot.

Is the amount of gas set to factory specification?

Did the a/c work before the re-gas? - Was the compressor engaging and disengaging as normal?

I take it the reason you regased it was because the air wasn't getting cold?

Could it be the aircon switch not hooked up?

Of course, check that your switch is plugged in and working.
