Hey guys, I just did an oil change yesterday with the help of a neighbour. I've now got Shell Helix Ultra in there with a Valvoline oil filter from Supercheap.

Having a bit of a worry now because the blue OEM filter that came off was a different physical size to the Valvoline one. The original one was narrower and taller while the new one is shorter and fatter.

Looking into the filter, it looks as if they look identical where it matters- size of the black ring and the number of holes around it. It also seems to fit alright. Furthermore, the box did say 00 Civic.

I was wondering though whether maybe there was a difference depending on the month?

Car seems to be running ok and purring quite happily. Is everything ok?

Thanks in advance!

you got any oil leaks or anything?

if theres no probs there, then it should be fine, as long as the seals and shit are in the correct spots, i cant see why thered be a problem

yeah the aftermarket ones have a bigger body, that's normal.
The OEM honda and some JDM ones have the smaller body
