The standard model is equipped with wipers that, when set on the first intermittent setting, will wipe continuously when the car is moving and then intermittently when the car is stopped (at traffic light for example). On the second intermittent setting, the wipers wipe intermittently when the car is moving and they stop completely when the car is stopped. A neat function.

However, I have noticed that these neat functions function intermittently. Sometimes my car goes for weeks with the wipers working correctly as outlined above and then suddenly it forgets and the wipers just wipe intermittently only.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

The new CR-V has the same neat functions.

Are you on your brakes when you are stopped? The moment you release your brakes, it will start doing a sweep

It also wipes less often under certain speeds (about 20-30km/hr I think).

SPQR this has happened to me too and was wandering the same thing, but then I realised the wipers were on the next setting (always on) when I swore they were on Intermitent. Its easy to get confused with wipers..

depends how fast you want them to wipe too.

Yes it is neat but we have found that in the Northern Territory, the number of bugs committing suicide at high speed can get the wipers going and then you have a mass of smeared insect sap on the windscreen. Still, auto wipers should be a feature of my next car.

Yes, my car is stopped with my foot on the brake (my car is an auto). As I said , it goes for weeks working as it should and then it doesn't for a while.

Sorry guys, I haven't worked out how to do multiple quotes.

No, I checked and I actually spend my time of late conducting experiments on the various intermittent settings while waiting at (red) traffic lights.

Hmm strange. Mines had no problem at all. Perhaps there is a loose connection somewhere.
