My son is having dramas starting his 86 integra..
It will start perfectly for monthes and then all of a sudden it will fire but as soon as you hit the accelerator, it dies, and just winds over and won't start..can keep trying for 30-40 minutes and then it will start again.

The problem reminds me of having an anti theft device on the car (but it doesnt have one) and it having a loose wire.

i've had a good look and cant find any loose wiring but have noticed an engine management light (PGM on dash)sometimes doesnt light up when this happens, so not sure if it may be related to the problem or not.

Anyone have any suggestions?

yep main relay is about to fry!
dizzy is another cause.

if ur main relay decides to die on you.
temp solution:
- run a cable from a +12V somewhere to the fuel pump to bypass
Remember though, Only TEMP! as this will keep the fuel pump constantly priming and pressurising (the relay is there for a reason =]).
