anyone tell me the difference besides the engine?

power windows? aircon? interior etc?>

EM1 has colour coded mouldings on the doors. mirrors are also colour coded on the EM1.
the EJ8 front bar DOES NOT have mouldings like the 96-98 EKs (which makes us so much sexier)

there are slight differences between the 99 em1 and the 00 em1 as well, 99 doesnt have remote central locking and no cd player, not sure if there was anything else though, but when looking at buying em1s u cant be fussy with weather its a 99 or a 00, they are a rare car that done come up often, took me a while to find one i was happy with.

what about the middle console? the em1 has an additional storage thing in the middle, whereas the ej8's do not.

and i think someone stated before, ej8 has rear drums, em1 has rear discs

yup! looks like i got my eye set on em1..

it was set on an EJ but didint know the exact different.. besides the engine..

although i do plan to k'series it later down the track.. ill have to get the EM..

theres a few vtiR for sale.. around 12-15k with high k's.. might have that as an option as the k's dont bother me as engine will be changed later on

in all honesty, i think the silver ones are just as good...get the silver one if you cant find a white/black one. theyre too hard to come by.

silver with carbon fibre bits are off the hook.

go the em1, you wont be disappointed with it aesthetically..mechanically its still a civic and lacks balls.

yeah thats the one, i looking at it tomorrow. The way i see it is if i want a vti hatch im just going to have to cop it and fork out the extra cash. As they staying pricey for what they are.
Rego expirey is playing a huge part in my buying decision aswell as that will cost almost 1k with greenslip

im not in the position to do any conversions at the momment and being a 4th yr aprentice mech that really sux...otherwise id be doing that now, though down the line ill think ill do a B series swap or turbo the D16 :D

The EJ/Em is basicly the same as the EK hatch. I think they only difference parts wise will be the rear bar and c pipe will be a bit longer to the muffler. Other wise front end, interior is all the same.

i think ek seats use the pull up thingy to release the seats, whereas the em1's have a rotating switch thing on the parcel shelf...

im thinking the EJ would be the same as the em1

well my plan is to put sr4's into it for the front..

but i want plain black rear seats.. the stock ones on EJ have headrest.. which i dont like.. and grey!

so wondering if any stock honda rear will fit onto it..

you will mainly get red and green Ej8's. If you are going to do the K swap and swap the interior, why dont you just get the EJ8. Might seemed biased cause i own one but, i mean why pay extra money for a: engine you are keeping for long, B: interior you aint keeping stock C: You will propably go a 5 lug if you are willing to do all of the above. Hardest part to track down is real lights, i got mine from ebay for $180 delievered. 2nd hand but perfect condition.

i will upgrade to 5lug with rear disk down the track.. but thats about 1 year for the new engine.. gna use it for a daily for now..

hopefully replace most stuff with ek9 stuff then repaint whats left black

i like BC2... BC just looks too old/outdated IMO
BC rear looks good though!
cwest front bar is nice too but might be a bit "rounded" for your taste - i just don't like messy/noisy body kits with holes and angles in too many unnecessary places

yeah i did a revs check and then checked it thoroughly myself, the repairs seem good.
Its sitting in my garage now with no rear bumper and it all seems good inside

yeah im having a bit of trouble finding parts for a ej8...not sure which parts are compatible

i think thats a problem with most lips that are replicaz lol. the fitment aint as good as oem =( but sometimes u may get a good replica that fits just as good.

so id say if possible try test fitment b4 u buy =)
