I used degreaser after a messy oil change and used a small amount of water from a container to wash it all off..
But as it hapens water still went into the plug holes..
They are completely free of water now, ive used water dispersant in the leads too, opened the dizzy up and sprayed it to...
Also the starter motor was giving me probs but i sprayed all the connections a few times and its fine now..
Were else could have water gone to create this problem??
Could the plugs now be damaged cause of this???
or water in the leads may have corroded them??
or the coil or dizzy be malfuctioning, any way of testing to see were the problem is???
it also misses when full throttle is applied at -2k on higher gears...
Tends to get worse once the motor has reached op temp aswell...
any one experienced this problem, do i start by replacing plugs leads ect or is there easier way to find out wats wrong

plugs(much cheaper) then leads.
You can also try WD40 if you have any lying around

are the rpms 'skipping'.. if not then that rules out ICM just to add...

I'd change the plugs first to rule that out. Pretty cheap test since they cost only $12-16.

yeh id change the plugs too. i got water in the plug holes and mine misfired badly when it warmed up. just used high pressured air to blow it all out and it was fine.

when i use to wash engine bays, we use to drive the car until it stopped acting up. Usually meant driving up and down the street a few rounds at WOT until the car smoothed out again

Still doin it. getting better...
Starter motor gave me abit of grief after work but after a few turns of the key it finally cranked...
was 40c today and still didnt dry it out...
If water was to leak into a cylinder would it act up???
also if it goes into injector plugs is it likely to have same problem???
the wires only have electrical tape on the joints, i might take the tape of and see if any water in in it...

If you left the plugs in place when you cleaned it no water will have gotten into the cylinders. It would quickly clear in any case, unless there was so much that it 'hydrolocked' the piston.
The injector electrics might not like water (what electics do?!), but I doubt it would be a problem (low voltage, won't arc anywhere, but might cause some current leakage and the injector not to fire, maybe). I've hosed off engines heaps of times and had no persisting problems that couldn't be put down to a wet high tension circuit. It's a good idea to avoid spraying the alternator though (cover it with plastic).
Just drive it until you're sure everyhting has dried out and if it presists then you probably have some other problem.

give this diy a go if your problem is still there.

It helped me diagnose my faulty ignition control module. The engine would start missing furiously, like it was skipping as was mentioned above, and the tacho needle would go crazy...changed icm and it was ok.
If it was after you were washing your engine bay though and with the symptoms you are describing it points to water in the high tension side of the ignition, but as has been said this usually can dry away. Sometimes if moisture has found its way into into a semi sealed area (inside dizzy, spark plug wells etc) even after you dry it with compressed air the moisture can 'sweat' and go into other places (further into the dizzy).
I recommend you get your hands on a compressor and air gun and use this to dry everything thoroughly, focusing on spark plug wells and leads, take cap off dizzy and dry well in there, around all electrical connectors particularly near your injectors.
If it still persists then there is another problem so start looking...check your plugs just to be sure, they should be dry and whitey brownish or white depending on how new they are,not black
ever bothered to open up the dizzy cap to see if water has gone in there?

I opened it and spayed crc in it...
The plugs are black on the outer but the electro point is not..
I got a little lead tester and tested the leads and the the dizzy to see if theres a drop and there is..
Then i tested my GFs car leads and the light is hell of a lot brighter on her leads...
Leads might be on the way out and moisture got in them and now they are useles...
Any ways goin to auto elec to replace contacts in statermotor so ill get him to see test to see if he can find the ign problem too...

And one of my leads, the rubber seal at end that goes to spark plug has come loose...
I think that might be part of problem too GRRRR...

Excessive resistance in the leads can fry the igniter (makes it run too hot), and possibly the coil. If the leads are out of spec re resistance then change them asap before you have ignition problems that might leave you stuck by the side of the road.

yeah i think your onto something with the leads there.
nice work with the voltage drop test, makes me happy when people are willing to try things and do some forward thinking, not just throwing out random questions with no details.

the spark could be arching out to the side of the spark plug well and not making it to the plug if the rubber is gone, common problem on cars, especially at high rpm

I also did 3 accidental tests which i dont recomend doing..
1st coped a walop from the end of a lead from my car which just scared the crap out of me.
The i coped one from my dizzy that hurt
then from my Gfs dizzy that hurt just as much....
The shock defenetly wasnt as strong coming out of the lead LOL..
My jaw was killing me for a good 15mins after...

There's another reason to get new leads, though you can usually fix this.

yerh i would change the leads and plugs first that the cheapest option cause a coil would cost you abot $200. i replaced mine 6months ago and have to wait cause it xjapan
I had exacting the same problem as you. I took it to the mechanic he just used the air thingi blew out the water from the plug holes everything was fine. Then a few weeks later found out my dizzy was also going, also got that replaced.
