Hi all,

As the topic says, I have problem with my DC5R. everytime I turn my steering wheel (to left or to right), I heard a knocking sound. Car is lowered but not extremely low (three fingers gap between front tyre and fender). the knocking sound comes from the front side of the car. I basically have the same problem as outatime (See link below)

http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=81269

I have read outatime thread and many responses say it could be due to RSB endlink. I have recently change my front swaybar with EP3's swaybar and they were tighten perfectly. Is there anything else I should be looking at?

Could anyone help me out please?

Cheers

What're you lowered on?

Are the springs seated properly?

Thanks for the replies guys.

CV's seems to be okay. I am running BC N+. The installation of the coilover is okay. I cant think of anything else.

It annoys me very much :(

check the sway bar for rubbing.. else remove it to see if its the problem.

and how do you know the CV's are ok.?

If the springs aren't seated firmly, you'll sometimes hear a knocking noise whenever you shift from direction to direction.

If you jack up the car, can you twist the spring easily on the unloaded shock?

spray some lithium grease on your coilovers. my friend had the same problem with his mitsu.

i have had that knocking sound too.
it sounds nasty.
but according to how you interpret it, it can be creaking or popping.
the pillow ball top might be abit dry.
spray a bit of wd40 so it doesnt stick when turning.
fixed it right up an i havent heard that noise for 3 months

otherwise some guys have problems with the top spring perch binding.
i thought mine had that problem but it turned out to be the pillowball.

is it bad if springs aren't seated firmly? how do I make sure it's firm?

Thanks for the replies guys

I have checked the coilover.

I cant twist the spring on the unloaded shock and they are tighten firmly.

I also dont have pillow ball...so I guess it cant be it....

I will bring my car to the workshop and get my CV joints check again. As iced pointed out, the knocking sound is pretty nasty...it only has a single knock though but it really gets to my nerve

:(

Really appreciate the replies. Thanks again

Cheers

if you can replicate the sound get a 2nd person to replicate it whilst you listen to where it originates from.
thats the best tip i can give ya.

check the base of the coilover.. maybe thats not tight enough . can check it by shaking the wheel left and right while the car is jacked up, so u can see if the shock is stiff or loose if its loose just tighent it.. happen to friends car
