Really Stupid Question

hey im about to go wash+cut polish+wax my dads car, i kno how to do it and everythign coz ive done it before on mine, but is it cool to polish while car is directly in sun? usually when i do my car i wait just in case, but atm i got nothing to do so i was thinking about doin it now but in perth its hot and sun is at peak, so yeh, just windering if tis cool to polish while under direct sun, ro should i wait till i can do it in shade?

on the bottle it usually says to polish in a cool shadey environment. most likely to prevent the wax from drying before you take it off. i dont know the implications of letting the wax dry but i'll let aaronng take care of that :)

Don't do it in the sun. The hot surface makes the paint very succeptible to forming new swirls.

the other thing with washing in the sun is, often the foam dries out when you are washing, which can leave marks on your windscreen. much better and easier to wash in the shade
