Hey, my idle is really bad. but ONLY when its car is at normal operating temperature. It goes up and down maybe 400 rpm. no tacho so not exactly sure.

When i got my pink slip the mechanic suggested it was possibly my idle motor (never heard of that before) but hes not exactly sure. I would have to bring it back in to get it looked at.

Some one suggested before it could be my spark plugs, but i dont see how, because it ONLY happens when it fully reaches the normal running temperature. (always exact same spot on temp gauge)

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

im not sure about this but isnt there a base idle adjustment on the throttle bodies on ek1s etc? if its tru then it COULD be that. Any pros wanna come and shed some light :p

Yea, but isnt that just idle in general?

It only goes up and down when it fully reaches normal running temperature.
It goes up for like 1.5 seconds, down for 1.5 seconds, and just repeats it self over and over and over. up and down

will most likely be your problem.mine couldn't be pulled apart and cleaned like that, but i cleaned as much as i could by spraying carby cleaner through the gauze and it has helped the idle.its better but still not completely right,i think replacing my entire valve is the best bet....give the clean a go first though

It's either the sensors that teh_mechanic mentioned or your throttle body gasket is on its way out (or is out). Other culprits could be the MAP sensor.

Had a look at the check light DIY yet? Might throw some codes if you try that.

Na, ill try clean my thorttlebody / IACV today.
It throws no codes.
And i thought it might be something cooling related, the temp seems abit high (although the gauges are abit shitty and inacurate so i wasnt sure)

But ill clean those today and see how i go and let yous know.
