If your interested in ECU's, hold off for a bit cause I've heard that there are a couple more ecu's around the same price as a hondata that have heaps more functions than it...

if you are after the hondata..go to forums.clubrsx.com and in the australia section someone is selling it for abt $2000 ++ i'm not sure on the exact cost and it comes with a full replacement ecu .....now that is smarter if you ask me :)

Tofu

Hondata never is/was a full replacement ECU

Have you heard the 5 Zigen Miracle? I'm buying an exhaust this weekend and was gonna go for the Fujitsubo PG, but I really like the look of the 5 Zigen plus its titanium (I think)......

Tofu

yah...i have heard the 5Zigen Miracle fireball on the base and on the Type R.
i had this exhaust before
i love the sound!, there's nothing close to sounding the same as this..
5Zigen exhaust "special sound"
those with this brand will know what i mean

i've also heard the Fujitsubo PG on the Type R, not as loud, and not as powerful in terms of my butt dyno. Good quiet exhuast if you don't want to stand out

both are good catbacks, just depends on which one you like the looks/note/performance

both comes with silencers

I have got the BuddyClub Spec III and the Hondata and I am extremely impressed with the gains.

If you want poerformance, BuddyClub is the way to go. If you want quiet and comfortable, see elsewhere! :) I haven't done that excercise.

The gains on my car with the exhaust intake were big, they just got pushed up again with the Hondata.

Well. i got a DC5 type s but unfortunately none of the japanese cat-back can fit into my car, :( still shopping around for a good muffler then probably will custom make the piping, what do u guys reckon? another option is get the japanese catback then modify the whole thing in order to fit, but i seriously sont think thats a good idea..by the way, was told that e-manage doesnt work with K20A engine, how true is that, gentleman?

what do you mean you got a type S? you've got the 2005 Integra? the very latest one? with the standard 17" wheels and no LSD??
you got the base model?
there are japanese cat-back for both base and the Type R
you either have the K20a2 or K20a3 if you're living in Australia...unless Honda Australia has secretly released the 2005 RSX version

Im so sorry, didnt make this very clear, I should have said i got a DC5 non-type R, just standard base model. i have been shopping and asking around for a JAp catback that can actually fit my car but unfortunately theres nothing on the market, im in Melbourne, i have tried chaser, n1, motorware, revzone and what i was told was the catback has to be modified, shorten or something...TOfu, would you recommend a place where i can actually get a catback that suit my car, :) , thanks so much, by thw way im a newbie, thanks for teaching.

just get the exhaust shop to chop it and weld it for ya ;)

or you could take the same route i took and get JDM DC5R headers and cat :D

sharo
11-09-2004, 12:13 PM
Does JDM headers and cat fit a non-Type R, would u have a clue how much are they?
Mr thanh, have u got a non-type R as well, how do you find the JDM cat, any good?

Tofu
11-09-2004, 07:05 PM
i was gonna get JDM header and cat as well...but you will need to change the front sway bars...
the companies from japan that makes bolt on exhaust systems for the base model dc5 is 5zigen miracle fireball, which i had but it hella loud from the inside...but some people say it's quiet on the outside..??
there's also the HKS Hi-Power exhaust, but i think (80% sure) that this exahust is NOT full stainless steel....
and.....well, that's it for the base model...
i wouldn't get my $1300 plus cat back exhaust chopped up just so that it fits, and then get it chopped again when i get aftermarket headers and cat...

MrThanh
11-09-2004, 08:30 PM
i think bone stock DC5 base dynos in at around 75kwatfw.

with jdm full exhaust, k&n typhoon intake and vafc2, i got 92.3kw :)

sharo
11-09-2004, 11:45 PM
thinking to get buddyclub spec three, got an offer from a mate who had already mod it, but the thing that worry me the most is the sound is going to be damn loud, even with silencer on..would anyone has clue whats the piping size of a stock DC5?? does a new catback really gain power??

Thanh,92.3 kw, thats awesome.. :D

Tofu
12-09-2004, 12:19 AM
actually...i might get sledged for saying this..but i don't think the base dc5 will gain in power from a jdm aftermarket exhuast....
might be more power on the top end only..but unless you drive at +5000rpm most of the time..it's pointless...

MrThanh
12-09-2004, 01:26 AM
but unless you drive at +5000rpm most of the time..it's pointless...

that would explain why i only got about 300km out of my last 47L of fuel :D

but yeah.. after installing the exhaust, i seriously didnt notice much difference at all.

sharo
27-09-2004, 01:32 AM
Well, after listening to all these advises. i have changed my mind, getting only the muffler sound more money-wise.. but its hard to find people who sell only the muffler though..im after particularly the HKS titanium, they are gorgeous, but wondering where to get them..

Tofu
27-09-2004, 07:07 PM
there's the HKS ehaust for DC5R on ebay...seller is in Oz...but it's no titanium...
looks similar tho...going for very cheap!

second, do what suki said..chop off the resonator and dumb in a bigger one...hope that will help...but most likely im gonna sell it and get hks..apparently it sound awesome.......and most importantly its much much more quiter, thats what matter....

;) the BCIII is bloody loud! to be honest i wouldnt cut it and whack on another resonator - might make it harder to sell later on.... maybe change exhaust?
