I just installed my four new pioneer speakers(two 6" and two 6x9), new JVC head unit and Fusion 12"subwoofer with integrated amp in my 97 civic coupe. Ive run the RCA cables from the amp/woofer to the head unit and everything works well...When I was at the shop the bloke said something about running my two rear speakers off the amp as well but there is no such setup in the instruction manual. The options in the manual are either RCA calbes to head unit or Speaker cable from am/woofer to rear speakers.
Can I do both? or are the rear speakers taking advantage of the amp/woofer allready?

ur fusion amp is a mono block amp i guess.
coz i dont fink that integrated amp/woofer will come in 4ch or 2ch.
just buy another amp separate 2 run the speakers.

Not knowing what amp you have.. there is no way to answer your question.
Anyway, I couldnt be bother to use the amp run the rear speakers. I would go for the font speakers instead.
The bloke who told you that probably dont have much knowledge on car audio, and I wouldnt let him touch my stuffs.

i personally wouldnt bother with replacing the rear speakers especially with 6x9s and a sub. As a general rule if you hav a sub there is no reason for 6x9's unless they are high passed as they can cancel out certain frequencies with the sub causin you to hav a gap in your frequency range. You would be better off saving the money on rears and spending it on better front speakers or amp. My recomendation would be head unit, 4ch amp front splits and a sub.

Abit more info on the sub/amp would be nice, eg: model number etc.
Most likely the Fusion sub+amp combo would've had a monoblock. But let's assume it has a 4channel, then it's a better option to amp the front speakers instead of the rears. Then high pass the front speakers so they won't play anything lower than 100Hz(or even higher depends on how your system is tuned). Generally you would fade the sound abit towards the front to produce a better image since naturally(eg: in an opera) music comes from the front of you. So amp rear speakers will not only do no good to the sound image but also a waste of 2 channels on your amp. The 6x9s were there to produce some bass from the factory. Now you just got a sub there is no point making them any louder or produce bass so they should also be high passed from the headunit.
OMG.JAI xD

just read tht and try stick to that .. best thing you can do.
you can however go technical..
find frequency responses of both the sub and the 6x9's
if the low pass is the same then its possible to do something like that.
somefin like ..
2 4 ohm 6x9
and the sub is a single 4 ohm.
you can wire up the 6x9 in series (+to-, -to +) and run a 8 ohm impedence.
now pull apart the sub .. and run parallel to the 6x9.
should still run a 4 ohm to the amp
or .. run parallel to both 6x9 and run series to the sub .. :/ either way still the same iguess ..
though it would/might/will, underpower all 3 :/
so .. yes it can be done .. with work.. but can do damage..
unless you run master/slave wiring from the mono.. which integrated amps .. dont have.. adn even if they do ..it would bridge to anotha integrated amp :/
not a big fan of integrated amps .. not much you can do with em..
well .. have fun =]

why would you even bother to type that/something that doesnt makes sense...
underpowering a sub would make it no sound, cause not enough power to move the coil, then you will have to crank the gains up, sending clip signal which would probably kill it.....
waste of time.... might as well say wire the HU to the sub.....
