Hi all

MY mechanic said i need to change my power steering pump and he brought a second hand one for $120 and $30 labor.

Is $120 expensive as i did not get to shop around at Japworld and it's to late to call them.

Is changing the power steering pump a straight forward job ? Can somebody describe in details what the process is.

Thanks

power steering pump are you sure?
lol.

$120 is a very average price.
power steering pump, doesn;t take long, 30 mins, at most.
it's 2 12mm bolts, to loosen it, then undo the tensioner, take off 2 hoses.

haha was just reading what you wrote on that 'What if your clutch dies on the way home from woop woop'

Well $300 is pretty damm expensive.

Anyone else get some quotes ?

Rather than getting a second hand honda pump, you can get a new aftermarket one for around the same price. If its a Denso one or some other Japanese brand then it should be fine. I believe Honda source their pumps from various Japanese sources anyway.
