View Full Version : n14 sss Sold, Welcome EG
I heart the SSS

Hey people,
I'm a n00b to the forum, just picked up my first honda and too be frank i'm F***ING loving it.
Even though it's a 1.5 Twin carb.
I sold my n14 SSS in search of getting something a tad slower, to actually learn how to drive quick and well (I'm a circuit gh33k) without paying the price of my life / my car.
I picked up a EG GL Civic, (a mate of mine downgraded from a slightly modded AE92 SX to a EK, and my god he can ****ing drive now) as generally I heard good things about them, plus I've never owned a honda so I thought why not.
The car I picked up is painted in stock blue mica, and is stock as a rock, even down to the stock airbox and hubbies :)
has done 180,000 ks (fair bit but its's a 93 so it's all in proportion), and too be quite frank, the drivetrain and engine are in amazing nick. Body has a few dings here and there (expected), and the interior is like brand new (no joke, i'll provide photo's tomorrow when it's light). Two owners from new, first was a country driver, second a female. Has log books and everything else from new.
Now too be honest I paid 4,400 for her, Just out of interest is that a lot for that kind of car? I mean i heard they sell for around 5,500 odd, but i'm not sure that's quite true.
I've owned the car just over 5 days now, and really i've learnt to drive so much better. Double Clutching and keeping the car in the torque band whilst taking corners a lot quicker then the SSS. Dealing with understeer and so forth, i feel like i can trust this car a lot more, and it generally handles a shit load better haha.
It's brilliant, and if i've noticed this much difference over just under a week, i can't wait to see how much I progress :)
Also I thought the car would of been reallly slow, and too be frank it isn't to shabby. With a quick change from 1st into 2nd in the optimum rev range, the car does chirp nicely :) Goes good for a twin carby !
Anyway I'd just like to say hello to you all, and I'll post some pictures tomorrow
Justin :)

Good on ya, I had a sss, great car but no where near as easy to mod as a honda. So many more parts out there for hondas its not funny.

zomg what did you spend 15k on your SSS on??? including car?
man for that much i could've made it into a ~120-130wkw NA track beast a few different ways twice over :p
but welcome to OH, glad your enjoying... i too came from an SR20 power car (though i still liked it better because of bang for buck & mods for the price of the car plus mods).. are you by any chance a member of PGA? whats ur username if you are?
***EDIT***
just looked at your mods.. that would have been pretty quick... you just needed some sussy and lsd to be happy with it... how much you sell it for?

Yeah she was pretty quick man, I recon around 120 odd kilowatts.
She always locked up one wheel though -_- Needed a LSD and some good coilvers to get the most of her you're right.
And around 15k was spent ALONE on her not including the car (including a Engine swap in that price)
My username was thisbetterwork, didn't post there too much however.
And I sold her for 5 flat. Needed a bit of work on the body, and had electrical problems too..
bahahah
wolfi wants to turn up
il jst jump in with him :)
he got quote for a spray job .. round 4 months time, his gonna do it
$2000
