View Full Version : Show me your muffler (DC2/4/R/5)
integra95
15-01-2008, 07:59 AM
Im needing to upgrade my stock GSi muffler, its pretty rat sh*t, you can hear the sediment cruising around in it when you knock it and it also makes a splurting noise when it idles (hope thats the muffler and not an exhaust leak but im pretty sure), it also looks pretty bad the stocky... I did a search and found no thread with pics and descriptions of peoples mufflers so thought id open one up..
So lets see some pics/prices and types of mufflers on integras, be good to see what a twin loop looks like on a DC2/4 or a Spoon style on a DC2/4:thumbsup:
Thanks guys

i just added a mugen twin loop (i can get pix later if u want)
note wise... it's awesome! on idle it's stock and when u drive it u can hear it growl but it's really just purring. Give it some stick and it really opens up!
Just listen to the youtube vids and thats how it sounds but it's a lot smoother and got more bass to it. I guess thats the only way I could describe it mate. . .

Fujitsubo RM01A Catback. Sells for around $1350 and is extremely quiet but has a nice note when revved up. It extracts very nice power & is of very good quality.

Hey guys, im new to the honda scene and so far im loving it, but im still learning haha. Im soon to be replacing my muffler on my 98 integra vtir as it has a whole in it. I don't have a vast knowledge of exhausts, but i do know that i want something thats looks very similar to the mugen twinloop.
I dont want something thats loud unless i put my foot down, so a nice quite idle would be good (less attention). I dont really like that cannon look. im from melbourne (northern subrbs) and was wondering where a good place to find a mugen twinloop and how much do they roughly go for?
i also have a soft spot for the exhaust the red type r posted by Bludger.
any suggestions are welcomed :)

You gotta order it..
think about it..
For a full standard Exhaust system for my DC5R (without extractors) it was $2000-$2500...
Think about it lol...
He can make you something just as good or even better for a fraction of that price.. Your paying for the name, either know its a good name!

And oh, your rear bumper looks to be drooping at the edges, the gap is quite visible. Take off the rear bar and bend the metal support beneath it back up to solve the problem. Can be done in 30mins. :)

ill let u in on something ok
Exhaust (Cat bak only is legal, EXTRACTORS = Illegal)
CAI is actually Legal..
If anyone gets done for these in Victoria please refer to me and i'll give you all info needed.
The rule anything that grants better performance is illegal is not exactly true, there certain SPECIFICATIONS to it...
ECU, Exhaust (PARTICULARLY Extractors) and a few others
CAI (pod filters) weren't on there.
Exhaust (catbak's) are fine, i've asked TMU officers before.
Thanks

Honestly mate, a decent quality cannon (loud) muffler on it's own will blow your budget before it's fitted. I'd say budget between $500-800 minimum. But as soon as you choose a quiet street muffler like Spoon Street Silencer or Mugen Twin loop your looking at around $900 for just the axle back muffler.

I swear im not compensating :o
I dont find my exhaust massively loud at all, and i dont generally drive with music on + i have the windows down mostly too.
Ive got headers and a CAI and i think that the noise level is wholly bearable.
I would recommend it to everyone. Its an amazing system.
i know 2 guys with this exhaust and when they both come to my place, it sounds like a Boeing 767 is landing in front of my house o_O
