No antenna, means no reception.
No reception usually means no radio lol... or really poor quality radio.
Dont think its possible mate.

???
You mean so it doesn't go up when you turn the radio on, but the antenna itself is not unplugged.
There is a specific cable coming from the loom which controls this, you will just need to cut it and seal it off, i can't find a wiring diagram at the moment, but it shouldn't be too hard to get your hands on, it may be written on the cable when you pull the unit out!!

dont bother cutting any cables, replace the original antenna with a s2k antenna.

Like Q said no antenna no reception.
you might be able to get some of the bigger radio stations but it will be all static and will cut off when u go past trees and or when the little signal gets blocked.
dont bother cutting any cables, replace the original antenna with a s2k antenna.
What jords said is prob ur best route. get an S2K looks better n u still get 100% reception/signal.
Thats what I have on mine anyway and have had no problems.

just cut the (blue/blue and white from memory) triggerwire.
if you pull up the antenna by hand you'll still get pretty decent reception. but why not just fix it.
s2k antenna looks sweet imo.

I don't think its the blue blue wire.
Its the thinner yellow green wire. Be careful because there are two yellow/green wires and one is for the fuel pump. Cut the wire and put a switch into place so you can make it go up an down when you want.

Its the blue/blue white wire that says remote antenna. (look at the HU usually has a separate wire)
triggers the antenna to go up.

I wouldn't cut the remote wire, just in case you want to run an amp or something later on.
The yellow green wire provides power to the antenna

lol.. dont cut anything...
if u wona get rid of antenna just disconnect it... its what i did coz the massive metal one looks weird.. especially on the track where i like 2 listen 2 my music :P
basicly all u gota do is remove the rear strut at back of boot, push in those clips on the rear centre black trim and undo the bolt for the harness thing or woteva it is (im pretty sure they are all 12mm) then once that out remove the trim bit on the left of the boot.
To do this remove the suspension top trim and in there is a 10/12mm undo that then tug on the top of the left trim, it will come loose... once loose get a torch in there and u will c a blue wire i think it is, just disconnect that and cable tie it 2 another wire or something so it doesn't rattle around....
feel free 2 add rep :P hehe
