hi there

So there are many Philips 'Vision' globes on the market, Blue, Crystal, Silver, Diamond etc. HB4 9906

I am thinking of going to the crystal/blue Vision on the low beam

Anyone have any experience with crystal/blue vision?? how long will they last for

Which Globes do you use?

or should i spend money for HID kit? , if so what do you use?

quality / price

I have the BlueVisions and they are great. They even have a similar blueish cut-off like HID's and output white light.

They last a long time, much longer than the cheap globes you find in KMart. Mine laster over 14 months.

Try the blue($60)/crystal($100) visions first, then look into getting HID. If you do go HID, remember to get Projectors so u dont blind everyone (including cops lol). Note that its illegal to install HID's if the car didnt have them from the factory, so u could get defected.

i had crystal vision, they are ok, they give a longer light (extra 20m) they have nothing on HID's, save up $350 and get some 6000k HIDS, easy to install and they really make the car look somethin else!

^^^^i got pulled over in my teg for my HID's, all the copper wanted to see was that they were mounted on the chassis correctly. I didnt have projecters either, just the globes and the boxes, wiring harness. He then told me they looked good and he was glad that they wearn't floating around the engine bay dangerously.

:confused::confused: thats a story thats going to p*ss people off who have been done for HID's lol

previously had crystals in my old civic, a big difference over stock ones. Very noticeable too cause it was more white. shined further too. Bit expensive for them though.

Hid's are great but legality issues...

I run Diamond Vision in my low beam and they're much brighter than I expected, so very happy with em. They start off blue then whiten up a bit after 10 sec.

i have run blue, crystal and diamond.
with blue i couldnt notice any difference between them and regular clear globes...still really yellow.
crystals were really nice...nice white light with just a slight blue tint.
diamonds were fairly blue...not as bright as the crystals.
of the 3 my favourates were the crystals cause i felt they were the brightest of the lot.

blue visions - 4000k
crystal visions - 4300k
diamond visions - 5000k

4300k is the brightest section of the colour spectrum...anything above of below isnt quite as bright.

now there is probably someone on here that will say that kelvin colour scale doesnt determine brightness...but different colours of light alter the way your eyes can pic up what they are seeing.
the best light for your eyes to see clearly at night is 4300k...thats why most cars that come with factory HID use 4300k.
its also the legal limit on colour temp...cant go higher than 4300k. (thats in victoria...dont know about other states)

this was all in my old 86 prelude running aftermarket diamond-back headlights.

all that being said...i now run 6000k HID in my 99 lude.
normally run them in projectors but currently running stock headlights till i move and get away from this one particular cop who likes to pick on me.
the HID being so much brighter more than counteracts the lots vision from the 6000k colour.
i love them and will be putting HID in every car i get in the future.

I'm currently using Philips X-Tremes and they are awesome for halogens. You might wanna consider them
