I have a magnaflow muffler on my car (part #14822) and imo it sounds shit :( I heard alot of people saying how the magnaflow has a nice deep tone but I don't hear any of that. So I wanna see if anyone has a magnaflow on their car and if you're happy with it?

My car is a 1998 Civic Coupe VTi and only mods I've done to it are:
X-Force Headers
Hi-flow Cat
Mandrel bent exhaust piping and
Magnaflow muffler

Oh and I have one "hot-dog" resonator :D

I'm thinking whether I should change to another muffler or if changing to a different magnaflow muffler will do anything?

Hey buddy
Try the Super Cat Mufflers. Mines a cannon style with a 3.5" tip on my 85 Civic (bit of a difference) and it sounds deep with a 2" cat back, but yours would sound way better with extractors, hi flow cat etc. Btw, other friends have the same muffler on newer cars and sounds good also :)

What sort of Magnaflow is your muffler? Cannon or oval shape? If it is a model with a straight through design it should sound fairly deep and nice. What are the inlet/outlet sizes?
Stick to the Magnaflow, Super Cat isn't anywhere near as quality a brand.

Yes I wanna stick with the Magnaflow because its a good quality brand over say Super Cat (no offence trd rolla) But here are the specs on the magnaflow muffler.

Street Series (cannon style)
2.25" Inlet, 4" Diam. Tip
Single Wall, Straight Cut
4" Tip Length
14" Muffler Body Length

I don't know if it happens to everyone else but the noise of the muffler sounds really dodgy in the mornings or when you start your engine and drive off. After a while of constant drive it'll settle down and sound nice I guess. At night it sounds awesome, well better then what it does during the day.

but i dont have a full exhaust, its just 2" from the ressy back. didnt want a loud exhaust. i get that hollow sound as well in the morning, but then settles after 10mins driving. i dont think it sounds that bad... but, i have heard cannonball magnaflow on othes hondas, and yeah, it sounds shit... maybe its a straight through system?

I got an ED wiv stock muffler and a pee shooter 1 n half inch tip. The muffler got some cracks in it, and it sounds great...deep n nice yet not loud :p
Other then that, i reckon u should just get ne cannon n it should sound nice...well not cheapo ones...

I have a simple magnaflow muffler - oval style , 2.25inch straight thru design.
Looks nice- and maintains a deep , throbby tone :)
