View Full Version : TODA timing belt on stock motor...

hey guys.. iv seen a few threads with ppl bringing up things about the toda timing belt not being so reliable..

would it be safe 2 use it on my stock motor... it is tracked probably monthly...

im about 2 do timing belt and already purchased the toda belt.. but i wona know if it is safe 2 fit or should i just go for oem belt...

well, i know of 2 people, that have had the toda timing belt on a bseries motor, cranking 220kws, been to the track numerous of times, been to the strip numerous of times, 1 has 80,000kms, the other has 60,000kms, since they put it in.

the ppl who told you toda belts arent reliable.. were they talking shit out of their ass?

or it actually snapped on afew occassions?

LOL wank factor... But yeh if you already bought it, then yeh its fine. OEM would have been your best option

remeber to tighten it to specs. If not then i think toda won't warrant for any damages done to your motor. Best would to take it to toda AU, if anything happens well then you know you have some kind of warrant.

We use OEM timing belts on all our built motors and there more then fine.

Dave like I said. OEM is the way to go on a stock motor.

I have heard cases of people snapping stock Cams using a Toda Timing belt. Why not upgrade your cams and springs at the same time?

hmmm.. so tempting 2 go further.. but i believe i can get so much out of the car how it is (fairly stock)
