Hi everyone. I need some help - Please!!!!

Have been looking at buying a gen 1 CRV because sadly, the gen 2's are out of my price range. My dollars are very limited at the moment, divorced mum of three, mortgage blah blah blah :-) I love the size of the interior of the CRV and that's really the only reason I want one. Well that plus Honda have such a good name.

Anyway, I came across a 2001 CRV Tourer this week but I cant find any info on this model. Even managed to find the original owner who was kind enough to give me his number so I rang him. He thought it was a limited edition but he said he had never seen another one.

Have googled without success. The car salesman is trying to tell me that its worth more and will have better resale value because it's a Tourer but I kind of figure he's talking crap. No one seems to have heard of that model! It's very hard looking for a car on my own because I dont know enough about them and most salesmen either completely ignore me in the yard or they treat me like I'm a complete idiot.

Does anyone here know anything about it? Would appreciate any help.

Thanks :)

hi there...
well.. never heard of a tourer one from my memory... but IMO... if you can find a base model with cheaper price.. then i think financially it will be better for you as you won't miss out by much...
normally they just put some exterior diffrerences and maybe some interior upgrade and that's it...
Maybe ask the salesman of the extra the tourer offers.. and you can judge by yourself if it is worth the extra..!
but it will going to be a reliable car if it is from a dealer... ask them for some warrenty as well.

Thanks for the reply. It seems no one has heard of the Tourer! I decided not to buy it anyway so am still looking around although I need to get something very soon 'cos my old car is just about dead!

Its very hard to find what I want with amount of money I have. Also difficult to get any clear info on the fuel economy of the CRVs. It seems so varied between 'not very economical' and 'very economical' it's really hard to get an idea.

A friend wants me to look at a '02 Mazda 323 - big bloody difference in size!!:p

Anyway, apologies it took me so long to send a thanks.

If you don't mind, would probably be best posting your budget here so we could provide you with suggestions?

Or are you pretty firm with the whole CRV idea?

Hey, thanks for that!! Nope, dont mind. Have $13,000 (had more but The Teenager needs braces -damn, they're expensive!)

Obviously first preference is a CRV but am certainly open to suggestions. The only thing I'm firm on is that it has to be a manual.

Cheers :)

the 'tourer' would only bee a badge and accesories package at most.

it shouldnt really affect the value with the gen1's being about 10yrs old now
