Hey fellas,

Was Thinking Of Fitting a Vtec controller onto my K20A which is internally stock with a bolt-on Trust T517Z Turbo Kit..

But, i was told it would kill the engine..

.......?:thumbdwn:?

wouldnt be the best idea, wouldnt really be worth doing due to ur turbo
wouldnt u be better off with a turbo timer rather than a vtec controller?
just a thought

Why are you comparing a Vtec controller to a turbo timer, one is a performance enhancing mod (on the right car) and one is most certainly not.
Do you mean a boost controller?

Not worth it. Since it is turbo you should invest in an ecu. Then when you get it tuned by your tuner he can set the vtec crossover where is most useable

No point,
You've already got an aftermarket ecu tuned to ur setup (or u better well should have).
THat alone should be more than enough to manage vtec.

Yeh, don't use a cheap AFC etc for Boost.

For any serious setup, boost or NA, get a decent Ecu. It is the brain and you should not skimp.

the AFC is just a cheap compromise for someone who cant afford a full aftermarket ecu.the ecu will easily do what the AFC can but 100 other things aswell.People just love the AFC because of the bling when they change colour when vtec engages

i already have a Greedy E-Manage, but it can't set when the vtec kicks in,
therefore i wanted to fit a VAFC to my car.

All the work was diy'd with some mates..

like he said, get a DECENT ecu:)
then you will want someone that knows what they are doin to set the tune for you, not exactly backyard stuff

Yes, definately can control, vtec, it's just a matter of setting a few jumpers that are turned off from factory on it, then you can adjust with the suppoprt tool!!
If you supply me with an email address i can send you an english manual (p.s 4mb file, so make sure you have space :()

Nothing wrong with an emanage man, i have seen some killer nissan and, yes, even honda setups using an emanage, though i would go the ultimate, not the blue personally for a turbo setup.

Why not get ECU and get it tuned bro b4 you go any further mods. One little mod requiers tuning to know whats need next. Better that way then buying a heap whole of parts bolting and after get shit power outof it.
