If you're running in the Championship, you'd be better off sticking to 1 class.
However, if you run ad-hoc, then it really doesn';t matter. You can run in a different class every round.

My understanding is that this would typically be a Type 3.
Doesn't matter if it came out in Japan, but if it didn't come out here with that engine, then its considered an Engine Swap - Unless its actually a low volume import.

If the engine is of a different family model, eg. K Series into an EG civic (B series are ok, cause its the same family of engines for the car), then you could be in the Type 5 or SV.

Having said that, your best bet is to contact CAMS to ascertain your vehicle type.

Dave, I'm pretty sure I'll be in 3B but will need to run CAMS log books.

Not sure when I'll be on track but it could be earlier than first thought since I've deferred the J's engine for a while.

I joined Porsche Club of NSW to get my PC licence.

I've applied for the licence. Just need to do the medical and 2 days flaggie duties. I hope that gets booked soon. I just wanna get it all finished.

accept for the odd GT-R with a decent driver....

most of them battle 2 do the same times as a mildly modded DC2R....

lol what im trying 2 say power doesn't mean crap on the curcuit... look at all the honda's with like 110kw @ wheels doing quick times (not just honda's but u get what i mean).. but not the odd quick times but constant quick times (which is what really mater's)

Its not the GTRs you have to be worried about, its the old datsuns, VW Beetles etc that you need to fear, and all these driven by men in their 50s and 60s who built their cars in their backyards.....they will trash the shit out of you...LOL

lol, no-one takes R34's to supersprints!

they are too afraid to get shown up by an old RX7 with a good driver LOL!!!!

supersprints are very good places to learn how to drive, and a boosted civic is always going to be quick around a track, power isn't everything!!!!

you will be in class SVC racing against turbo'd MX5's and the like...

(there were only a few entrants last year in this class - puts you in with good chances of being near the top if you compete all rounds...)

plus GTR's are in class SVD along with WRX's and EVO lancers....

that is the thing,

at SS - drivers go out in 'colour groups' based on previous lap times, so you drive with others the sameish kinda pace as you,

you don't go out in your class group...

this way, there is no kinda "race" and there is less chance of you having to pass another car (which slows both cars down) and get your best lap time you can (the aim of the event)...

last year i was racing with turbo'd MX5's, fully worked V8 Torana's, Commodores, RX7's, Lotus Exige, turbo falcons etc etc

(if you don't have a previous lap time - you start out in the slowest colour group and graduate to higher ones as you get timed through the day...)

this is required to cover the costs charged by CAMS for affiliation...

it is still not 100% decided it will happen, but it is being seriously considered...

shame the day started so late...

i reckon another session would have been perfect... i had a bad start to the day, feeling very uncomfortable on the track (there was a fair bit of debris and contaminants on it), but after lunch i got my mojo back and started pushing harder... pretty consistent, but did not nail a new PB...

I think i still needed more time to remember the fastest lines - it is hard when there are 2hrs between sessions (due to so many entrants(107))

so no idea why you are in SVB - i am lookign up the rules to see as to why you might have been put in that class... as it is at the discretion of the scruitineers as to what class you run in...

it would be 3A if you capacity is 1600 (iirc the b16a is actually 1595cc? is yours bored out?), it would only be class 3B if you capacity was 1601cc or higher...
