I scrapped the front lower tow clips (the two hinges at the front bottom of the car which i assume they latch onto with hooks for towing etc.) now it's gone rusted. I've applied some WD40 to clear it up and it's fairly prominent.

Are there any recommendations for any paste I can apply over it from any further rust from occurring.

Sand paper, rust conveter, finer sand paper, primer and can of paint. Just make sure you dont keep scraping it. Otherwise leave it as it is.

Or just can of paint :)

I scrape it all the time, especially in the Euro. They are for protecting your engine underside.

I don't even bother repainting it. It won't rust out, well at least not for the next ten years anyway which is more than how long I'm going to keep the car for.

I don't know how some people can lower the car even more and live with it.
