pretty useless question with out the size of the wheel.

how on earth does that work.. ive got 42+ te37's and it needs a 3mm spacer to clear

running 15x7.0

There is a bit of clouded clarity in this thread. Here is what you need exactly in minimalistic mathematical terms without taking into consideration some wheel designs which allow you to get away with slightly higher offset.

15 & 16 inch wheels (+35) POSITIVE offset. Check Spoon SW388 wheels specifications as a reference for optimum running wheelbase/configuration setup. | The higher the number, the more you need in terms of running spacers to get it to clear. General note - The lower the offset, the more the wheels stick out of the car as well.

+35 is perfect offset... Dont go above +38 or you need spacers.

Hi guys,

It really depends on the design (style) of the wheel you are fitting. Clearance of brake calipers are not clearly dependant offset. Hence JDM DC5R has +60 and still clears brembos?

how about SSR Type-C 16x7 +42 ?

can clear the spoon twin block caliper ?

Nepolian - Offset is the only form of accuracy in terms of measurement. The reason why the JDM DC5R wheels can clear those OEM Brembos isn't just based on offset. The hub and control arms on that particular car play a unique role for those OEM Brembos only.

Try fitting on a Spoon universal monoblock onto the DC5, you will be back to the same story of following +35mm and nothing else as a guide.

Dynosaur - No, +42 is not sufficient. You will need to run spacers of at least 5mm ~ 10mm spacers to clear the Spoon calipers.

go to offset calculator... if you want to compare wheels, anyhows design of wheels also play a role if you had lower offset wheels but those with spokes that bend inwards or some shit... it still might not clear,

wheel design, width and offset are all stuff you have to consider

zco would probably know best.... he runs the whole setup so use his as a base or something... you can figure out more or less what will/wont clear

Yes. Have to consider about the wheel spokes's design, width and offset together. CE28N 16x7 5x114.3 +42 can fit the Twin-block caliper with out any problem.

how much the gap (mm) between the caliper n the spoke ?

thanks edward :)

edw is talking about the gap between spoon calipers and rims all depend on spoke design. Like CE28N 16inch with +42 offset should be just fine. I reckon its only about 3mm gap.
