View Full Version : Is the auto Euro a full auto or tiptronic?

Don't be alarmed...

I just need to know if the automatic gearbox on the Accord Euro if it's tiptronic or full automatic?

Also if anyone would be so kind as to post a photo of the gear level n stuff...

And is it a mechanical link between the shifter and the box or electrical?

Need to know if it's suitable for the next project ;)

hmmm mine is tiptronic i think... the thing is auto but u can switch to tiptronic... hahah what u mean by full automatic

Anyway, all auto for Euro are tiptronic. I dont have a photo of gear level but here are the level;

P (Park)
R (Racing???)
N (Neutral)
D - M (Manual tiptronic)
D3 (Dont know)

Might be a dumb question, but can anyone tell me what the D3 is for, is it for like big hills or overtaking??

yes, i believe D3 can be used for big hills and overtaking, but the manual says to use it when towing. basically what D3 means is that the transmission only uses the first 3 gears, first, second and third.

keeps the revs up which means keeps the car moreso in the powerband.

Do you push the stick to the side and then just flick it up and down to change gears?

Also can any confirm if its electronic or manual linkage?

Electronic. You can take off the trim and swap the up and down shift switch around to get an upshift when you pull back and downshift when you push forward.

Reminds me of a story of a Ferrari owner who thought it was 'Race' fanged it 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th RACE! and the gearbox blew up
