Hey guys just wanted a little help with something on my DC5R. When i accelerate off at the lights i hear a knocking sound like metal on metal sound. I know its not the engine mounts coz they were checked by 2 meachanics about 2 months ago. It also happens sometimes when turning, just a knock noise once. I also know its not driveshafts coz they were just replaced. Revzone told me that it could be a gearbox mount. I've had the problam for a long time now and wanted to know whether i should b driving it if it is the gearbox mount. Thanks, any help would be great to ease my mind!

Although you said its not the driveshafts, is it possible at all it could be the CV(Constant Velocity) Joint? Sounds like you've replaced alot of stuff in this car, how many K's has it done? Seems unusual.

I thought it was at first but have a suspision that that is not it. The car has done like 98,000km. The previous owner was a total dick to the car and i bought it with the driveshaft problem. Is it bad to drive with a busted gearbox mount?

I couldnt see it doing any damage unless it actually broke completely. After all it is only their to "mount" it, and surpress engine vibration. I couldnt see it breaking, Honda's dont have enough torque to really push mounts to their limits. Either way i would be taking it easy until you get it looked at by a suspension specialist. A-SAP to prevent possible further costs and unneccesary damage.
