hey everyone.
i have tried searching but nothing come up the way i wanted it to
here is the problem.
i had a vibration from my steering wheel when i was getting to about 90-100km/h i figured that would have been a wheel alignment.
soo i went and got one done but this problem still hasent gone away.
any thoughts?
should i take the car back to the wheel place and tell them to do it again?
thanks heaps

Check your wheel weights to make sure they haven't come off.

It's another tell tale sign of the wheel needing alignment or your wheels have gone toe in/out

i have had a similar scenario. 100km/h+, "odd" vibration throughtout the car, not just steering wheel.

For my instance, it was logical. Car still steered relatively straight, if not straight.
Went to get the wheel balance/wheel weights checked out. Turned out to be flat spots on the tyres. After hitting the track in the wet, loosing it and skidding out. Flat spots resulted and were only obviously noticeable over 100km/h.

Tyre rotation was all that was needed. (well in this case) Me guesses due to different alignment settings at the front compared to the rear. i do not get vibrations at high speed with the flat spotted tyres now at the rear. Having said that, vice versa front to back.

Puzzles me as logical,(in my situation) since i did stupid things with the hand brake when i was younger. With my olds asking me what i did with the car the night before, & "What's that noise?" :D :o

Hope you figure out what it is.

U tyres could be bald also, making the vibration even worse

yeh i know i have uneven wear on the tyres...but i cant afford new ones till end of the yr so i guess it wil have to do for now...
if i leave it for a bit will it keep progressing? will it get worse?

yeah if you have uneven wear you need a wheel alignment and yes it will keep progressing and yes it will get worse. if you have an expensive set of tyres i'd suggest you make the investment in another wheel alignment/balance, maybe bring it back to where you got it done and explain the problem if you haven't already done so.. oh and your tyres havin uneven wear could also explain the vibrations. maybe you just need a new set of tyres?anyway good luck. ;)

yeh the tyres are about 18 months old now and i plan to change them when i put the D16a in the car but i dont see the point right now...they haven't gone down to the warning marks,
and although they are wearing unevenly it isnt that bad and as i said, i think i will be able to wait 4 months till i get some new ones
if i was loaded $$$ i would do it now!
cheers anyway MR-VTEC appreciate the input!
