I have a 2007 Accord Euro with 5 speed auto with (now) about 5,000 on the clock.
I am not sure whether this a "me" problem or a car problem, but I am finding a distinct reluctance for the transmission to change up. I frequently feel that I am in a gear or two lower than I should be. Cruising on the flat I am often still in 3rd at 50kph and 4th at 60. I often find myself shifting across to "M" and moving up manually, and muttering to myself that "If I wanted a manual I would have bought one".
I also suspect that this might be a reason why my fuel consumption with careful driving is in the 12+ range (I was getting 11 in my V6 Vectra).
I asked the dealer to check it out at the first service and was told that the computer read-out was "within spec". I'll certainly be asking again, because it just doesn't feel right.
Any suggestions, anyone?

-sounds normal to me, 3rd at 50, then 4th at 60, you'll probably be hovering around 1,500 ~ 2,000rpm

-the Euro needs revs when shifting up another gear, it won't allow you to drive the car with low revs at high gear

-manual mode is fun isn't it

-maybe the car just needs to run in a bit more

-don't worry about fuel consumption - enjoy your ride, the Euro is a great car

normally when i use the tiptronic i got 3rd at 35 4th at 50 and then 5th when im cruising past 60.

I also had the same problem as you did when i first got the car in july last year, my fuel consumption was like ~12.4L/100km. Then i started using tiptronic and it went down to about 11L/100km

If you have a new car, the initial fuel consumption is also higher, I find that if im not too rev-happy with the euro i get around high 9 or low 10s per 100km in mainly city roads

i change to 2nd at 10-15kph 3rd at 30-35kph 4th at 45-50kph and 5th at 60-65kph.
Fuel consumption is perfect with the euro get plenty of k's when i keep the rev's between 1,500-2,000rpm.
