bought a second hand 2003 Vti Jazz about a month ago for wife.

there are no mods at all, very stock car, but only problem so far is that its battery died twice in one month.

once it died when lights left On, and we just dropped young one in kinder, it was only 2-3 mins.

i checked on battery, and it is showing blue ring (as indicator) means battery is in perfect condition.

i m not sure how old is battery.

is it a battery problem? should i buy a bigger battery for this car? any suggestions, thanks.

swap with a known good battery (off a friend etc) and you will answer that question. IF it still happens , look at loose +/- connections etc

connections are fine, have checked them already.

i dont know anyone with Jazz, can i try to connect my Accord CD5 battery to test or it can harm Jazz in some way??

battery places will usually test it for you for free.

when your battery went flat did you get your cvt memory relearned?

Are you sure you didnt leave the interior light on or something?

If the battery is over 3 years old then its usually time to replace it, depending on usage, if its been completely flat before, brand/model, etc..

Considering its a 2003 model, its probably still on its original battery and needing replacement

Panda[cRx] : its a manual car, but every time it happened, it lost its L per 100km data, and it took a while to calsulate it properly.

EuroDude: i think same, most probably it has original battery.

battery in my other car accrod (cd5) is a century battery and its working strong for last 7.5 years.

which one i should buy:

Option 1: Ultra High Performance Battery NS40ZLX
Option 2: High Performance Battery NS40ZL

pls advise, thanks.

there is about 200 CCA difference between both

You can use a higher CCA battery in the Jazz. It's the max current that it can deliver. The battery will provide the current depending on how much the car is drawing.

if u have a set of multi-meters maybe check for leakage of batter current (A -amperes) to see if something is draining the batter while the car is closed an everything is off

Take it to an auto elec if really keen and they'll have a load tester which can be connected up to your battery to see if its good.

Sometimes older battery may indicat that they're good as in holding over 12v but a crap under load.

As with CCA, you have a Jazz, cant see any problems with any CCA. Lawnmower battery may even start it :)

From the looks of things i dont believe its a battery problem..

I reckon the battery has been drained before and now it is not holding much charge. Get it properly tested.

thanks guys, i think as first step, will take it to Autobarn and let them battery power. if its good then have to investigate any other possible issue.

otherwise will have to buy new battery.

Don't spend too much and in the end be out of pocket for almost the same amount as a new battery ($90)

i will only go for battery test first and post here its outcome for further suggestion. as battery test is free of cost.

ultra heavy duty battery was quoted $109 by autobar, which sounds good.

I use a sealed ACDelco and my friend uses the Supercharge Gold. Both are $90, the ACDelco is 430CCA and the Supercharge is 450CCA.
