yep, walking home after work and I had a itch to take the spare tyre out of the Euro to save weight!
that spare tyre is sure heavy... I havn't taken the Euro out for a drive yet, I reckon the back end might be looser
whadd'ya'reckon? I thought about safety, with less to hit behind... I thought about the glasses and nails on the street... but as long as I drive like normal, don't think about that
s h o u l d be alright

tyre + rim isn't that heavy, I doubt there is any significant difference with it out, leave it in there for that possible chance you get a puncture and need a spare.

IMO the weight lost by not lugging the spare around will only be measurable on the race track, and even then only with a very consistent driver as any improvement in lap times would probably be slight enough to fall into the 'random variation' / 'not statistically relevant' sort of area for most drivers.
Even on the race track you just won't actually feel the difference through the seat of your pants, whether in acceleration or handling, unless you possess an extremely sensitive and well trained arse.
As part of a more comprehensive weight loss program it would be worthwhile for racing (well you just wouldn't take it on track would you?), but for the street you'll need that spare some time, maybe not today or tommorrow, but sometime in the next few years wouldn't be all that unlikely. I've had two flat tyres in two days, had to borrow a car to buy replacements late on Xmas eve, of all times!

as above - its hardly a difference to a already heavy car.
IMO just leave it in. Its not a track car and never will be "fast". So why short-change yourself ?

lol this happened to me, pulled the nail out and everything.. got the spare tyre out ready to put on and oem Honda tools didn't fit my nuts.. may as well have removed it :/
It is illegal to not have spare tyre though, but unless your expecting your tyre to burst, taking it out and having those licorice looking puncture repair kits is sufficient.
But as stated, pointless on a heavy car.. won't even notice it.. where-as on a lighter chassis like a stripped EG, hanging a dump and taking a piss before driving would be somewhat noticable :p

i'm guessing it pumps a flat tyre with a foam that semi hardens?

Completely useless if you cut a sidewall, which may not be common for a city bound car (though not unheard of) but not for a country car...

it just puts a sealent type around the tyres inside but u still have to inflate it again at a servo or something
its doesnt last long its only to get you back to change ur tyre...

it is a TEMPORARY fix...enough to drive a few k's to the nearest tyre shop to plug the tyre or get a new one.
Handy to have tho.

i drove with a nail for almost 3 weeks, tyre kept going flat after a couple of days, had to pump it up about once every 3 days but it worked. haha..

Ok here we go.
The foam in a can does work but to a max of 1cm hole.
If you get slashed tires (i've never had in over 10yrs of driving) your gone and you gotta ring a friend to bring the tire over. (that's the use of a gf!)
I don't drive much further than 30km from home and so i have the can.
It is like a strong glue that fills up your car so you can drive home.
I've put in a tire plug once i got home but it was better than i expected.
It also pumps up the tyre. 1 can can pump 1 tire about 3/4 full, which is enough to drive home.
P.S just be careful as this stuff is super sticky but clear.
