Real & Fake Bride Seats

Hi,
I'm in the market for some genuine Bride or Recaro seats. How can you tell the difference between a real and a fake?

I'm in the market for a Bride fixed bucket if that helps.

buy it from a sponsor, you can generally tell between replicas and genuine items.

the way they feel, the materials used, they arent as great as genuine. if it feels bucket style, all bride seats grip you real good

the copies dont feel as comfortable as well.

usually the reciline feature gives it away. The proper ones are badged on the recliner and copies aren't.

With recaros they also have a leaver on the top of the seats. Bride have so much badging you can't miss it.

Also another common thing is the quality of the product, if it looks kinda cheap its prob fake

Bro, diff between them are genuine has their name pirnted on them, replicas don't. Also check the design, genuines are always properly made with good materials, replicas they just use any materials and the design is not as good.

Exmple: gaps, Stiches, Foam soft or hard. ETC ETC

There are some good fakes out there that are badged also with the genuine badging. I've seen a few recaros that almost wouldn't be able to tell apart

yeah it does become hard to spot the fake unless you've got the real and the fake right next to each other

What was wierd is that the reclining one has a small bride tag on it when the fixed does not, is that right?
It's ex display so hasn't got packaging or certificate.

I was just looking at this on EBay. Sounds too good to be true with some of his prices. Therefor I am very sceptical...Anyone seen this seller on ebay?? All come out of taiwan which doesn't give me too much confidence...

lol okai let me clear this up guys~that seller originally made it for bride japan, he is now producing and selling them at a cheaper price.

you wont be able to tell the difference between his ones and bride ones. because his factory was the original producer. his names mark btw lol. there are some shitty ones around and there are some good replicas around like this. but yer this guy uses all original bride parts of 07..you can tell from the price its dodgey~he makes the fake takatas you have heard about and the fake SARD injectors. also makes brakes, and races honda in taiwan.

his gias seats are fake too. the yellow carbon at the back is majority yellow with black kevlar, where as the real ones are majority black, with yellow kevlar.

i sat in fake brides that were brought from taiwan, they were totally shit house. soo much tighter than my bride and my mates vios.
