Snapped in USA, it is believed to be the new Acura TSX, a.k.a Accord Euro. Looks too similar and similarly sized to current model

The next Euro is probable not the TSX. It just so happened that the previous TSX was the same as the JDM Accord and hence same as the Euro. We have to wait for the JDM Accord to be released to get an indication of the new Euro.

I was under the impression that from the outside at least the current TSX is the same as our Euro (CL9), the key difference being that ours is LHD, and has an interior thats similar to the Thai built Accord because of that.

I have no idea why I chose to quote your post. LOL.

Anyway, the normal Accord will be the same as the Thai Accord as usual, which looks pretty similar to the pics that were recently released.

The story goes that we wanted the JDM Accord. We got a similar spec to the model that UK gets, which is with 140kW (we were competing with only the Mazda6, Liberty 2.5 and Camry, so didn't need all the power). At the same time, Acura wanted a medium sized sedan model and also chose the JDM Accord. They opted for the JDM engine because they wanted to compete with and beat the BMW 325i (which is about 141kW).
Interior-wise, Acura wanted to be upmarket and got the blue instruments especially for their market. If you go see a 2003-2005 JDM Accord in Japan, it will have the same white/orange instruments and interior that are AUDM Euro gets.

Whoa!!! Nice.... rear looks very similar to the Wagon spy pics. The front is slightly different to the TSX as well... the piece of bumper between the headlights and grill is much thinner on the JDM Accord when compared to the TSX. Also, the rear brake lights of the Accord wraps around unlike the TSX:

I've gone to a Mazda 6 MPS, definately loving the AWD Turbo combo especially in all the wet weather Sydney has been copping, although I do miss my Lux Euro. New Euro should be great, just that I know for me after AWD, I can't go back to FWD.

Bummer - I don't like that at all.

The current Euro's styling is beautifully taut and clean - from that photo the new one looks too lardy. I hope it looks better in the metal (and a nicer colour). If not, it's off my shopping list.

Same here. they camryized it too much. It looks more conservative, has that unrefined camry bulk look, and that unappealing high-fat rear look like the Mitsubishi 380. Its completely lost that slick European bmw-esque look.

Honda want to be the new "toyota" so perhaps thats why honda decided to copy the camry's design. Thats fine, make the normal Accord like the camry, not the Euro! :o

The rear lights look good, but for everything else, I prefer the CL9 shape.

That is all.

Maybe not the Yaris but closer to the squared-off and raised boot lid of the Corolla as well as it rising belt-line. Ignore the tail lights or maybe mirror them so that the fat-bit is to the outside like on the new Euro.

Have you noticed that Euro door handles are like the new Accord's only upside down? Much better this way than on the Accord.

New TSX looks much worse than the European Accord I think.

They are basically the same car with only some details differences: Such as the TSX having an ugly grille like most cars designed for or in the USA.

I am intrigued that Honda has used the same door handle design for the USA Accord and the JDM/European Accord only that it is upside down on the USA Accord.

If you look back to detailing (the devil is in the detail!) in the spy shots by Chris Doane of the Brenda Priddy outfit and the tourer/station wagon glimpses recently released, it is pretty obvious that the TSX and the Honda Euro are essentially the same car. And why wouldn't they be so? Why would Honda spend money doing two separate cars when it already does a separate Accord for the USA (which is also the basis for the Acura TL)?

Even if you go back further to the blue photoshop rendition of the supposed new Euro, you would see some of the details of the new Euro coming through: The headlights stretching almost to the front wheel arches; the puffed-up and flat-lipped wheel arches; The crease line in the bonnet; Even the rising beltline along the sides.

Not so strangely, all features of the about-to-be superseded Accord Euro. The new Euro is an evolution of the old.

I have just found another link with Euro photos and specification details.

http://www.hondanews.eu/en/index.pmode/modul|detail|0|844,DEFAULT|21|text|1/index.pmode

Quote from the above site:

Engine

The 2.4-litre engine is more powerful, delivering 200 PS at 7000 rpm and peak torque of 233 Nm at 4500 rpm - up from 190 PS and 223 Nm. Behind the figures are a compression ratio increased from 10.5 to 11.0:1, larger diameter valves, revised valve timing, and reduced exhaust system pressures.

6-speed manual/5-speed automatic

All three engines are matched to a 6-speed manual transmission, while both petrol engines have the option of a 5-speed automatic.

Manual models feature a ‘Shift Indicator Light' or SIL which appears in the centre of the rev counter. ‘UP' or ‘DOWN' are displayed to advise the driver of the optimum point (in terms of best fuel economy) at which to change gear; Honda tests have demonstrated fuel savings of as much as 5 per cent simply by following these commands.

The 5-speed automatic transmission now has a straight ‘P R N D S' gate: using the steering wheel paddles in S mode provides a sequential shift mode, allowing manual shifting and gear hold.

It should look freakin sweet with the Lip kit installed.

The 03-05 CL9 with no body/lip kit looks a bit bland, whereas the sports or base/lux with the lip kit transforms the overall look of the car.

Lets hope the new euro has a decent factory wing this time lol

Much prefer the current Euro. So much so, I ordered one today! ;)

The new interior is a terrible mish-mash of shapes, styles and textures - it's way, way too busy for my taste. Looks like it was designed by an ADT kid on acid :thumbdwn:

Don't mind the new front, but the boot/rear looks too big and bulky. In side profile the wheel/arch gap looks too big. And the wheels - they look way undersized. I wonder if they're 16's or 17's in the pictures?

Overall, I think the current Euro looks taut, clean and timeless, the new one contrived and bloated.

No, that's my honest opinion. Obviously we have different taste, but that's fine - to each their own. :)

i agree with you... 08 euro looks way too complicated! 14 buttons on the steering wheel for heavens sake! youd crash just trying to chage the volume lol

only cool thing is the tacho/speedo.... no actual 'needles' theres like a ring with a pointer that spins around the dial :D very cool!
