well sould cost 3200 but one thing it that would scare bit b18c and only hold up to 190kw b4 it pops

Itll handle more then 190kw. And it will cost you alot more then 3200.

t2871r is probably too big for that power output, and for a stock internals engine. B18C's are good for spooling up, but still won't hit boost till at least VTEC rpms.

better off getting a smaller turbo, and having same power on a little higher psi, but through a lot more of the rev range.

and yeh, 3200 is quite optimistic unless you're doing all labour yourself (including tuning) and sourcing some parts secondhand or something.

T2871r is fine i would say.
Deano has a T30 something with an 1.xx AR exhaust housing and he makes full boost around 5.5k rpm.

GT2871 is perfect for a 1.8ltr, anything smaller will run out of puff at about 6krpm.

I know someone who really regrets getting a smaller turbo

as above it's perfect.. you got it the wrong way around bud.

smaller turbos lose compressor efficiency at higher RPMS.. just as an example only a T25 could possibly produce 10psi up until 8000rpm but it would be spinning at like 100,000rpm whereas a bigger TD04 would probably only spin like 30,000rpm to produce 10psi at 7,500rpm.

he will blow his motor with a smaller turbo as the power amde in the higher vtec range TRIES to force the smaller turbo to spool beyond it's rpm efficiency....

i stand corrected :| didn't know deano went so big. (kinda used to looking for D16T parts) personally i'd like boost below 5500 though, but i guess with the compression of a stock B18C it wouldnt be a prob.

come to think of it, dean's setup is a perfect example, though cost a lil more than 3200...

errr... double it and i'd say you might come close.

Yeh, might come close. Keep going...... :p

Yeh, I have a GT3037S with a large turbine housing. The good thing with new BB turbos are that they spool up quick. Just dont get a big rear like mine.

Depends what you want though. I can drive around all day off boost, like it was NA, but get awsome power when you put the foot down. Great fuel consumption too.

rodfl, i hear ya Deano.

i still haven't driven mine enough to find out what my fuel consumption is.
Only had the first full fill.
