i would STRONGLY recommend that people NOT outline what security systems they have on there cars... you dont know what kind of dirty thieves are lurking around this site...

Any alarm is good as long as it's installed right
I had a Boomerang/ Alpha A2000, on my dc2r, stuffs up a lot so i got rid of it, soo i advise against it from my personal experience and from a couple of others i know reckon keep away from it too...

in my opinion getting the kitted alarm systems esp the popular ones are a waste of time (mongoose, black widow, etc..) getting a custom one may cost 100 or so more but atleast know one will know what alarm system you have....
a simple grounding wire to a bolt for your ignition system is an excellent way so ppl cant jumpstart your car

You can find some good info in this thread i think, there are alarms with options to send msgs to your phone when somone is tampering, and also able to track your car aswell,
One that will go off at anything, try and find one with interior movement and you can set how sensitive you want it to be for when someone say sits on it!!
Try Brant, Rhino, Mongoose, Black widow, I wouldnt suggest either viper or boomerang!! its really up to you, as said before a thief will get your car if they want it, soo thats where tracking comes in handy if you REALLY want your car!!

try to find someone who can do stealth installs too, nothing worse than a shit install(which is probably why most alarms 'stuff up')
on another note, if i were to do a diy stealth install where would i get fairly large amounts of black wiring from? jaycar?

.....and ignoring the spam
for those who want to either redo their install to make it stealth or want to start installing their alarms via stealth method you can pickup black 'hook up wire' from jaycar for about $4.5 for 25m
