if u go turbo, make sure its proper job. That is, not just bolt on. Do your internals, ecu, zorst blah blah blah...otherwise just go for na. If u want grunt n got the money, go the boost :)

well if his budget would allow the b swap and then boost the b, id go that path definately, the d series is not as good as the b in that respect.

however on a limited budget, i presume he can only tubro OR b16a swap. In that case the turbo d will giev a much wider powerband than the b series, the torque difference will be huge, the d can take 10psi and be daily driven without a problem from past expeirence. As a daily driver, the constant gear shifting might be good for an R where u feel like a race car, but i just dont get the same enjoyment from shifting an underpowered low torque b16a.

if he had said b18c or turbo d16, then id say b18c, but thats a different kettle of fish.

well there ya go then...cheers....I thought you were a B sider....but got confused due to the fact you were being specific to the thread topic, rather than what you feel would be the best route to take irrespective to cost... ;)

Turbo, honestly you can get a complete kit from Greddy for around 2500 in your hands. turbo, manifold, Emanage, dump pipe, charge pipes, clamps, the lot. Same kit that Weq has, i'll probably get it too.

Show us the money on the table and we would be able to recommend you something. You got to think of the very basic costs such as insurance!!! Chances are your gonna be paying almost 50% of the value of your car every year. Just putting it into persepctive.. Vic

Boosted B16A  In all seriousness mate, as adequate as a B16A is in terms of remaining N/A, boosting the D-series will pose the likely avenue of satisfying your power cravings...

Im was stuck with that situation also but my engine is a dy16y8. And i've came to a conclusion that the amount of money i can spend on a b16 or b18, i would be able to get a very nice turbo for my car and still have money left over to do other mods. Also it will be quicker :)
