Hi guys, i did a search but to no avail on this subject on Euro models.

Anyways, i think about 2,000km ago i changed my oil but i think about a week ago, i saw it was a bit low, near the bottom dot, so i poured in about 500ml oil so it doesn't go too low.

So now i went to do the weekly check just now, and the oil was above the 2nd dot, and touching the little curve on the dipstick.

How bad is this?

Now remember this is before starting the car up, so cold engine still.

No oil light has turned on yet, but i still want to avoid any problems.

If its just touching the little twist bit on the dip stick then it will be fine. A little over the 2nd dot is ok.

You can always drain a little bit out if you really want to.

A little over is fine. 500ml is fine. If it was 2L extra, then I would be worried.

I went and ran the car for a while to warm it up, turned it off and checked the oil levels again.

The oil level was just 1mm under the 2nd dot now, is that normal?

Yes, that is normal.

BTW, wait about 5 minutes after the engine is off and then check. That is the proper level.
