Gday, I've been driving fords or holdens so far, only finding problems with both brands - fires, brake squeals, everything breaking, noises, oil leaks, and lots of money thrown into them for repairs.

I want to buy a 3rd or 4th gen prelude, or a 98-01 integra (98 is when they upgraded the breaks I believe, I could be wrong though). Possibly a new jazz, just for the 3 year warranty.

What would you choose given the choice?

ps. If I get the 3rd gen prelude I'm thinking I might put a h22a into it. Put a whiteline strut tower brace, front and rear swaybars and adjustable koni shocks with some new stiffer springs.

Also wanted to know, is there much cost involved in replacing the 4ws system of the 3rd gen preludes if something goes wrong? Or many common problems of the 3rd/4th gen preludes or 98-01 tegs?

Hey man, IF you need any help... you should join www.preludeaustralia.com and we'll help you out with your questions coz there's heaps of 3rd genners there. one has done the h22a swap and it was a TIGHT fit. 4mm clearance all round.

Bascially about what charlay was saying..... Chris AKA Flipmods on PA drives a 3rd gen with a h22a conversion....... I think there is a progress thread on prelude australia. Probably not the best option seeing as there is alot of custom work involved to make it fit properly........... However i must say that chris did an exellent job...... I would reccomend a 4th Gen Prelude S with a H22a swap, thats what i did....... However if you do want 4WS your alternative is a SI with a H23A or the VTIR with the H22A. At the end of the day it really comes down to your own opinion on the car........ What type of body do your prefer, 3rd or 4th gen?

I like the front end and exterior of the 3rd gen, but I like the engine (h22) and the interior of the 4th gen. It's hard to decide since they're both similar weights. I guess it will depend on which model handles better with 4ws.

Sounds like a lot of work to put a h22 into a 3rd gen, 4mm clearance is friggin insane. I'd probably be better off putting money into a 4th gen or 3rd gen with stock engines.

What model do you think has the best handling? (I'm willing to spend a bit to improve suspension/rigidity/etc) and is the cheapest to gain extra hp

haha your asking what will give you the most HP gain for a prelude, preludes are slow fat and heavy if you want raw speed get a ctr or a itr something like that will go fast. preludes are designed to look good and cruise not look good and go fast.

I owed all the cars your interested in even my sis has jazz.

DEFIANTLY go with the integra.

3rd and 4th gens and jazz are not as good

I mean 4th gen still is decent,

but 2rd gens been old cars have alot of issues.

my advice for power, light, handeling the TEG

or if you want luxary power the 4th gen.
