Hi all
I'm about to purchase an Injen CAI for my 2002 DC5R. I've done a search on this forum already, but my question is still unanswered.
My car has fog lamps, and a member on this forum said that the right one has to be removed to accommodate the filter. I spoke to a retailer and he claims that he has installed the Injen CAI on DC5Rs without removing the fog lamp. So now im confused.
I love my fog lamps, and i wish to keep them. can someone confirm whether or not i can have both the Injen CAI and the fog lamps installed at the same time.
Thanks in Advance.

fog lamp doesnt block it.. that goes straight to your wheels, for your brakes.

on the ek's...the injen pod goes to the spot where your resonator box thingy resides. not sure if this is where it goes for the dc5's being a k series n all. but i doubt the fog lights would be of any concern.
DC5R dont have resonators sitting insie the Splash guard.
With injen you need to cut the Splash guard and chagne the washer bottle.
You can modify the splash guard with a bigger hole to suck in more air.
Injen wont require u to remove foggies

thats a yes.
when installing an injen u need to take the front bar off, so once u do yoiu will see what i mean.
the fog lamp area directs air to your brake system, not to your engine bay

would the injen for a dc5r fit the luxury/base dc5? i've been told it should
"given same engine series. just one is DOHC and one isnt..but its the manifold that differs"
true? will it fit??

someone please explain to me, cos im seriously confused.
the seller said the 1476P is for the type R. the 1477P is for the type S. i paid for the 1476P, cos i have a type r.
Product is delivered and it says 1477P type S! Then i read this post and says that SP1477 also fits type R.
The Injen website lists 1477P for type S only.
Im missing something. someone please clarify. does this 1477P fit my Type R, even tho it says type S.
God this is annoying the foot out of me, i just wanna install the dam thing alread.

You can see the fog lamp peek out of the foglamp area

The piping from the wheel area. I tried to make the cutting as small as possible. I used a hot rod to melt the plastic. I also had to make a small incision so the piping can poke out just a bit - instead of cutting a bigger hole.

A view from the top. Nice small hole for the piping to poke out.

Fog lamp re-installed.

VERDICT: Absolutely awesome, as soon as i finished the installation i took it for a spin with my brother. We both agreed that the sound rocks, esp when vtec comes in holy foot it sounds awesome. Power increase? can feel it at the top end, it definetly worth the money!

hm...took me a long time actually, i started at 11pm and finsihed the next day at 430am.
I've never opened up my car before, so i wasnt familiar with the parts and what not. removing the bumper took the longest cos there are a lot of screws. Im a noob, so it took ages, my garage looked like a bomb crater and my parents were worried i couldnt put it back together again lol
If you know you way arnd ur car youd save a heap of time.

oh and for ur installation, give u a tip, turn the wheel all the way to the left. gives you more room to access the spash gaurd. i learned the hard way.

was a bit harder to take off the clips for the front bar because my car's lowered.. first time i took off bumper to install hids, it was a bit easier.
