Hey guys im looking at buying 1 1/2 inch lowering springs for my ek. I have 17's on atm and was wondering if anyone has any pics of there cars with 17's and lowered with 1 1/2 springs? Is it low enough to fill the gaurd?

And will my tire rub around corners, i was told no but just making sure.

Well i got a ek lowered 3" at the back and 2 1/2" at the front looks pretty low but i still want lower..

The front rubs if u take corners really hard and if u take corners hard and there are bumps in the road..

But neva rubs in straight line even when the car is full..

Ill try get photo

My EK 3" at back and front with 19" looks low, but i have to cut out bit of the front plastic splash guard. no rubbing on straight line either or with passengers.

i made this mistake.. i thought 1.5 inches front and back was going to be low enuf for me.. but 1 week later i ordered some springs 3.5 inch drop on back and 3 inch drop on front..

if you lower your car by 1.5 inches your wheel arch will still be over your tyre.. maybe 1 finger over. it will not tuck your tyre. depends how you like ti i guess.. if you look at this months calender.. that car has been lowered 3" on the front i believe with koni yellow on lowest perch... so up to you :)

I would buy adjustable coilovers.I wish I did that first.
I'm gonna get one of these 2:

Haha,Gio :) but I was the same man,I didn't have the money...I ended up spending $700 on king lows with the stock struts and it's just no good,I mean the shocks have 100,000km's on them.If your's have done near that I would change them too.If that's the case you will spend the same amount on the coilovers. It's worth waiting/saving and getting the right thing first.

Thanks for that rayb3na!

from what i can see from everyones posts, i'm guessing 1 and a half inch wouldn't rub at all. i too am considering to lower the car by just 1-2 inches... (my driveways gutter is a b*tch to get up and down)

a couple wks ago i was checking out a sellers lowering springs.. said he lowered it by 3 inches, heres the pics he showed me: http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=58161

sorry thread stealing hehehe..
just wondering, if its worth just replacing springs to lower the car a couple inches or so? (back maybe 1 1/2, front maybe 1/2?)
if so what springs would you recommend (comfy ride would be nicer)? Pm me with the price maybe?
or should i just change the whole spring + shock combo?

My EK4 has 17"s and it was heaps low (over the wheels) when i first bought it.

I have coilovers with decent damper setting though, so it never rubbed.

Have since raised it a touch (to stop scraping on stuff).

kings on stock shocks, i dont drag or race and shit lol, so hope to keep stock shocks, if not i'll get some aftermarket once from pedders or something.
scrapes a little when u full wheel turn. like 100%. havnt tried driving hard yet, might 2moro wen i drive to work, see what happens lol.

Please don't listen to all these monkeys saying you need a 3.5" drop coz quite honestly they have no idea what they are talking about. You will lose all practicality for everyday and real world driving, and this will piss you off before too long. Especially if you also want to carry passengers and/or cargo. A 1.5 drop gives you the best compromise for retaining practicality and good looks, and most importantly, remain legal.

dahon

well he did say he wanted a 1.5 drop..
guess he just wants to see comparisons..
autonoobs height is a perfect example...
just low enough to look good but high enough to clear bumps...
if u had a lip you reckon it would rub along driveways?

Also wandering (as l had the same prob) not knowing how low. l didn't go that low, but now l've got issues with the rear left hand side guard rubbing only when l have a passener and my car isnt that low.
Has anyone had the guards lipped ? l'm thinking of getting mine done, but worried about the paint cracking.
Thanks

I'm on stock shockers, but put in King springs in recently. l think the rims are the wrong offset. The rims l bought were off a 97 Prelude.

I agree! Once you've driven a car with coilovers you'll understand why people rave on about them.
