hey guys,
i have an em1 with a b16a2, i just bought some 98+ spec ITR cams and valve springs, and some skunk2 adjustable cam gears, and want to install them into my car, and was just wondering if i need an aftermarket ecu to run this setup, or will my standard ecu be able to cope with this.
cheers,
stephen

The get the full benefits of these mods yes you would need to have your ECU tuned to suit on a dyno.

aftermarket ecu is best to get the most power from it.

Crome or Hondata
or even a PFC but you prob get more power from a Hondata or Crome

As the low cam on the 98+ spec ITR cam is identical to your original cams,
You could get away with a VAFC II or something similar if you're on a tight budget.
That said, agree with above posts. a full programable ECU would be best.

143 hp....sif kw LOL....

as above upgrade to crome ECU or hondata. IF tight use a vafc. You might need other mods worthwhile before tuning it all i.e headers, exhaust, intake, IM, t/b and etc....

Using a vafc would definately make those mod's more effective.
