Hi everyone this is my first post on this forum.

I recently got a new job so I'm looking to upgrade from my old corona to something a bit newer. I've been looking at getting a VTi-R civic or Integra.

I like to look of the Civic much better then the integra mainly because I'm not too keen on the round headlights. I've seen pictures of some JDM integras that don't have the round headlights. Was it only the JDM type-R ones that look like that?

forgive me if i am getting this wrong because i only recently took an interest in Honda's. I've been a Toyota guy for a long time. But there aren't any Toyota's that fit what i am looking for at the moment.

Any feed back would be appreciated.

Yes, only the JDM integras have the rectangular lights...
So the ones you see floating around are either real JDM tegs, or theyre aust. spec tegs with JDM front end conversions.

Hey mate and welcome! I was a Toyota man once too so i know how you feel.
You said you don't like the round headlights of the Integra, are you aware there was a facelift in '98 which among a lot of tiny changes there was a sleeker looking round headlight front end? If you still don't like it then you could always do a JDM front conversion, and yes all JDM's had that front end apart from a few 1.6L single cam Si models.

Obviously I'm biased towards the teg but the extra torque of the B18C over the excellent B16A was important to me when making the decision.

How common are JDM front end conversions? is it just the whole front bumper and lights that needs to be changed? or do the bonnet and front quarter panels need to be changed as well?

I'm considering an integra because of the extra torque from the B18C over the B16A. I had a look at the 98+ update model but even though does look better its no where near as good looking as the JDM ones in my eyes. Plus they might be a little out of my price range. I'm looking at more like 12-13k

The lighter weight in the civic well makes up for the torque difference, an eg civic can easily weigh in at as little as 950kg, whereas a vtir dc2 weighs in excess of 1100kg!!

Again, torque is not really too bad, due to power to weight, but dump a B18C in a civic on the other hand... ;)

For the jdm front end conversion, you will need new front quarters, bonnet front bar, headlights, rad support, you will sometimes get lucky and find someone selling a gutted JDM halfcut.

12-13 would be pushing it for a good JDM converted DC2, but you could get a nice B16A converted EG for that kind of do$h :)
